Re: ECU Wiring diagram 2001 V6 AFT

Just spoke with the garage and they are having a hard time locating a timing belt kit. Does anyone know where I could get one and the belt/engine that they could look for?

Thanks,
Michael

Re: ECU Wiring diagram 2001 V6 AFT

Oh good! There was no obvious noise at breakdown so fingers crossed.

Thanks for the info Geoff, I'll let you know how I get on.

Re: ECU Wiring diagram 2001 V6 AFT

The issue turned out to be a mechanical one. Snapped timing belt. Apparently I may need to be looking at a new engine if extra damage has occurred. Has anyone had this happen to them? If so what was the outcome? I'm hopeful that it won't be needed but any good links for finding a new V6 engine in th...

Re: ECU Wiring diagram 2001 V6 AFT

Thanks Geoff, I’ve sent on to the garage.

Do you know what the component is the “amplifier” component is that I mentioned?

Also, they’ve hypothesized that it could be the crank position sensor that’s causing it not to start. Any clue on the likely hood of that?

Appreciate the help.

ECU Wiring diagram 2001 V6 AFT

Having trouble getting my 2001 V6 AFT fixed after it lost power and won't turn over. No power/signal getting to the spark plugs. Does anyone have a wiring diagram from the ECU? There is an "amplifier" between the ignition and spark plugs that may be the problem according to the garage... A...

Re: Rough idle/stall when warm

Hi Geoff,

Thanks for the quick reply.

It's a V6 2.5L Petrol. I do have an LPG conversion and the problem is consistent on both fuels. Not sure if that rules out the fuel cap hypothesis?

Rough idle/stall when warm

Hi, I've had an issue for the last couple of months that when driven for a while my bongo will start to struggle and sometimes stall when breaking to a stop in Drive. If I put the gear into Neutral or Park then the revs increase a little and it mitigates the problem. Obviously when breaking for junc...

Roof Tent Repair

Hi, I have a 2001 V6 AFT and the silver canvas has started to break down in the corners and along the edge of the zip. I'd like to have it repaired instead of replacing with a new canvas if at all possible but was also hoping to avoid taking the whole thing out. Has anyone got any contacts, links, o...

Re: Low mpg problem/culprit

Hi Bob,

Are you saying that my assumption for the first MOT reading being km and the rest miles is a fair one? I was wondering how often are the odometers manually adjusted when changed to miles. I'm hopeful that isn't the case and the difference is less than 20k miles.

Thanks,

Re: Low mpg problem/culprit

Well it turns out that the odometer is tracking miles and not km. Therefore I'm getting around 19mpg around town on LPG which is reasonable. The garage did say that the lamba sensor was not functioning properly though as it was reading a single voltage when idling instead of oscillating between 0.1-...

Re: Low mpg problem/culprit

Thanks Geoff,

I'm dropping it back in to be re-tuned for the LPG today and if that doesn't do the trick I'll try and get a petrol mpg and go from there.

Cheers.

Re: Low mpg problem/culprit

Hi Geoff, Sorry, it’s still running at 12mpg now. It was actually less before the replaced oxygen sensor. Any idea what I should have checked out and if there are any common factors in losing that much efficiency? It’s generally running well and has been checked over generally by 2 garages. It’s not...
