Hi all, I want to get a side awning, but don't like the idea of attaching to the gutter using figure of 8 strips. I was considering removing the 3 OEM awning hooks, and using the mounting holes to permanently attach a length of C channel. Has anyone else done this? Any thoughts on good 'vs' bad idea...

Are there are any known weak points that i should consider investigating first to find my suspected air/fuel leak?
