Re: Parking sensors

Sounds really good, though I’ve gotta say, the most impressive thing is you ‘found an old 35mm film container’.!
Like many I suspect, I’ve gone through hundreds over the years but I’m damned if I could lay my hands on one now. 😁

D-Day Landing..

Hey folks, anyone have experience of camp sites or Wild Camping near the D-D beaches in Normandy.?
Looking to take a trip over for the 80th Anniversary in June.

Re: Thinking of first car

As has already been said, it really depends on your requirements/ use. I typically advise new drivers to choose something small & cheap to run. My daughter, a single girl at the time, choose a Kia Picanto which proved both frugal and mechanically bulletproof, plus it already bore the scars of a ...

Hot Nights..

Hey folks, I’m looking to fit a diesel heater to my unconverted Bongo Free Top (Triclick type) to increase the opportunities to camp. Most things I’ve read suggest the 2Kw option is sufficient, however they seem a little thin on the ground out there in Tinterweb land, though there’s plenty of 5Kw on...

Happy Merry to all.
Luckily the big man brought a headlight resto kit down the chimney with him 👍
Looking forward to giving it a go, when the weather allows.

Re: Auto box doesn’t like the wet weather..

Thanks very much for the info/pic, I’ll have a deeper look and check it out. Is this a ‘known’ issue.? Or am I unlucky.? Was wondering, I previously owned a Suzuki SV650 motorsickle, the front plug was criminally exposed to the weather on the early models so would cause issues as soon as the weather...

Re: Auto box doesn’t like the wet weather..

Hello, nah I did try the button when it happened to me, no change, and indeed it would happily still change down to 2nd, but not up to 4th. It had run along in fourth for some miles, but after the rain hit, and the speed dropped it would no longer shift up. My son was driving it on the last occasion...

Auto box doesn’t like the wet weather..

Hello folks, still pretty new to life with a Bongo and am suffering an issue with the auto box during wet weather.. Normally all is fine and it shifts through the gears as expected, however twice recently, on both occasions in really horrid rain, the box won’t shift up to fourth. First noticed on a ...

Re: Longest wannabe Bongo owner ever..

Early days still but the investment has started to give returns. One and all who’ve had a look have loved what they see, we’ve used it to fetch and carry a sofa, clear a garage, a Jolly Boys outing to Goodison Park, and my eldest took some pals to a gig in it. Only issue has been a reluctance to shi...

Re: Seat runners

I’m no expert but the only thing I’d say is be careful as any coloured lube may impact on the carpets, and also as the temp rises inside it may be more likely to become fluid and drip. An old tip for lubricating zips is to use a solid bar of soap or candle wax, I guess fairy liquid might work too bu...

Re: Bongo Security

Way back when.. I have also added a hidden horn switch to a couple of my motorsickles. Bikes suffered with terrible security and anyone with a half decent flat-bladed screwdriver and a hammer could use them as a key and off they’d go. The idea of a hidden switch being if anyone does attack it, they ...

N.E.Lincs Bongo garage recommendations

Hello, I’m in Grimsby (for my sins) and wondering if anyone has used a garage locally where they’ve shown Bongo prowess/knowledge/skills/interest .?
I’m not needing anything imminently, it’s just a good to know thing.
Cheers, Mick

Re: Motorcycle Emptyness

That is Fab.. =D> I’ve been meaning to measure the rear door opening but your pics clearly show it’s big enough. Is it two different bikes in those photos.? (Can’t tell on my small screen). Did you need to do anything to the bike other than remove / fold down the mirrors.? I had a Chrysler Voyager s...

Re: Bongo Security

While this trick may or may not be suitable for a vehicle, my fave garage/shed alarm is a baby monitor. I’ve used mains powered ones in the past, one in the garage, the receiver unit next to my bed but many are also battery powered, no doubt some clever leccy folk could advise on wiring one up to th...
