Re: Reversing middle row of seats on Bongo

As Hazzo says they're not a requirement. But that aside anyone facing backwards would be thrown against the seat back in the event of a head on collision. So the seat belts wouldn't be doing anything anyway would they?

The middle row in mine was reversed when I got it but they can slide to make a ...

Re: Headlamp bulbs, night driving etc.

I find the standard halogen lights on my '95 Bongo okay so I don't know if this is an issue with them but I think it worth testing for a voltage drop at the bulbs.

I've got a VW Corrado and they have notoriously poor headlamps. A common mod is to fit a live feed direct from the battery to the ...

Re: Basic leisure battery / solar advice please

The starter battery is old and the Bongo isn't my only vehicle, there maybe times it won't move for a couple of weeks or more. A well charged battery is a happy battery so it makes sense to me to use any spare electricity to keep it that way.

Though, having thought about the system a bit more I ...

Basic leisure battery / solar advice please

I just bought a used DC-DC charger and deep cycle battery (both Victron) and plan to fit a big 'ol solar panel at some point.

Ideally I'd have both batteries charging by solar. I know there are dual output charge controllers but I was wondering if I could connect a standard single output to the ...

Fitting Nissan Elgrand E51 wheels

So I took a chance on some very cheap 17" Elgrand wheels on eBay.
The stud centres are the same, 5x114mm.
They're only half an inch wider, 6.5" vs 6". The offset/ET is 45mm vs 40mm for the Bongo wheels so all the extra width is on the inside. There was nothing close enough to the standard wheels ...

Re: NEW MEMBERS! Please say hello here!

Well I got a week off work so was finally able to look at my new Bongo. I knew it had issues but it was cheap, lacking in any major structural rust and coolant issues so I didn't mind too much.

So far I've found;
Central locking not working
AFT not going fully up
One window blind moves by hand but ...

Re: Montague/registered camper with conversion as a daily?

Thank you all. Insurance is one of those things that I really ought to consider before buying a vehicle but it boars me so much I can't bring myself to.

I've joined the club now so have access to the insurance offers within. I'll start ringing around tomorrow and see if I can get it below £500 at ...

Montague/registered camper with conversion as a daily?

Does anyone have a converted Bongo insured as their main or only vehicle, i.e social, domestic and pleasure with commuting?
I haven't collected my new Bongo (actually registered as a Montague) yet but I've had a couple of quotes and been told that as it's been converted it has to be insured on a ...

Re: NEW MEMBERS! Please say hello here!

Hi all.
I'm in north Cornwall and have just bought a Montague. It's got a few issues so I'll most likely be found skulking around the Technical forum.. It will be a fortnight or so til I get to start work on it as I have a lot going on right now but I'm looking forward to delving into it.
