My telescopic one has been erect for several years. I keep saying I must get to looking at the earth. Mind you I could just call it Viagra!

Oil Leak

Just running through the pre MOT change oil, pads etc. I have discovered a significant oil leak from the block area on the drivers side at the front of the engine. There appears to be a circle of something there but the leak seems to be above it. Difficult to see as lots of fuel gubbins that side. A...

Re: Front Fog Lights....

Search Fog Lights and you should find a thread regarding a dodgy connector under the battery carrier. I read it some time ago but funnily enough I haven't got round to opening the bonnet yet. Main beam works wonders!!!!

Re: knocking noise when travelling over bumps at low speed

And if you mullah the nuts on the anti roll bar bracket as I did, you can get them from Mazda. They are a strange thread but the same ones are fitted to the RX8(?) Certainly a current production Mazda.
2nd one came off easily with sufficent soaking in WD 40 over a couple of days.

6 1/4 years, 45k. Annual or Bi annual trips to France, 2nd car. Fantastic for delivering and collecting sons from Uni and flats. Superb for car boots ("you can't charge me for a van...look, its got side windows, it must be a car!" The raised roof attracts people as well!) Cam belt (at a ga...

Fuel pump seals

HELP !!!! After 6 years my Bongo has let me down. Does this mean that it is unreliable and I should get something else? Only joking. Failed MOT on fuel leak and broken bracket on anti roll bar. Got the parts from the shop. I am trying to put the seal in the back of the pump by the blanking plate and...

Nuts!! (On the rear anti roll bar)

To all my fellow nut and bolt demolishers, I have some advice. When you have mullahed the nut on the broken bracket, it is something of a challenge to find a replacement nut that fits the thread. After turning the garage upside down and visiting the local ironmonger, car spares shop, bicycle shop an...

If I need to reline mine, I'm going to send the bill to the MOT test station that I use! The only time that there is any stress on the handbrake linings is when he makes me drive across the yard and stop, only using the handbrake!! It also goes on when I want to put the roof up but then I am stopped...

Solved this one by pure fluke. Bought an old Merc W124 and the indicator is the same side as the Bongo!!

Mind you when I drive my sons cars, both manual golfs, I cause mayhem by indicating with the wipers and juddering to a halt at junctions 'cos I forgot to put my foot on the clutch!!!!

I get a lot of groaning when I put the roof up. I was convinced that it was herself (did I say groaning or moaning!!!). I think , though, that I need lubrication. Other than London Pride internally what lubrication is recommended and where should it be applied?

Could this be the reason that I was able to drive large distances in the heat of the south of France with no coolant loss, yet I leave the Bongo standing on my drive in Bucks in this supposed summer and the coolant drops?
