Re: Blobber
Happy memories of being with Alan and Dot at the Bongo Bash and elsewhere. A lovely couple, and Blobber was one of the great originals on here. I last saw him a few years ago when he dropped at the house over for something Bongo (can't remember what - age!). We talked about scooters as we'd both ...

FREE - 4 x steel wheels & smart Halfords trims
Tyres only useful as spares I think as treads are low. Wheels could do with a rub down and respray but look good with the Halfords trims. Going to the dump soon if not wanted. Collection from Altrincham area. PM if interested. Here's a pic of one of them with the Halfords trim on:

Re: Honey I shrunk the Bongo
Hi All, so good to hear from old friends and sorry I don't do the forum like i used to. The Bash has become an annual clash with something else friends book me up to do around the same time. Also I'm no longer geared up well for camping. BUT I really would like to make the Bash even if only for a ...

Re: Finally dead and got to go.
Well after thinking lots about electric cars I have ended up getting another Bongo. With the purchase price difference and the low miles I do these days, the Bongo was able to offer me a capability that very few electric cars could:

Re: mikexgough
Very sad indeed and condolences to his family. i had read about it on Facebook and was shocked. I used to chat with Mike at Bongo Bashes, very much admired his Bongo and was sad when he moved on as he was a real character and a great help to many people. I often quot eone of his favourite lines ...

Honey I shrunk the Bongo
Hi All. I'm afraid I'm a rare visitor on BF these days and apologies for that but like so many I ended up falling into Facebook as its just so 'there'.
Anyhoos, after over 17 years with one Bongo, I decided that as I wasn't camping any more (though never say never) I must try and free myself from ...

Re: Shudder when idling at low revs
Does it stay at 600rpm even after the engine has warmed up. If it does then you might suspect the cold idle solenoid being faulty. I have one of these on my Bongo

Re: Just another 800 mile trip......
A repeat of last years trip, maybe only 600 miles, but yet again not a beat missed. I keep thinking its time to sell the Bongo and get a newer car but honestly, I don't think I could find a better one. One of my mates on this recent trip has just forked out £2k for a replacement AdBlue diesel tank ...

Re: I’m Glad I Went To Bongo Spares….I Can See Clearly Now The Crack Has Gone
Can you believe it. 16 years and no issues with Bongo windscreen until earlier this year. New one fitted, first motorway trip the other week and a stone flies up and puts a small crack in it. Grrr. Its small and way over at the edge of the passenger side so I'm hoping not to have to fit another ...

Re: Another MOT passed and hello to old friends
Good to hear from you Mike, like you I don’t spend so much time on BF as I used to but I do keep nipping in/out. I remember way back when you were the first Guinea Pig to fit one of our newly developed Low Coolant alarms. Daughter Jo is now running the shop and doing plenty of business with all ...

Re: Help with price????
I know this is a very old thread, but I was interested in what Bongos cost when new..
Looking at the two very different answers posted above, I'm wondering if the discrepancy comes from not using the correct exchange rate at the time.
The current exchange rate today is about 160 Yen to the Pound ...

Re: I’m Glad I Went To Bongo Spares….I Can See Clearly Now The Crack Has Gone
Dohhh…
Never thought to meet up.
Fairly long journey up as there was train mischief, but Bristol, Birmingham, Bradford, came in at a bargain £11 on National Express, then Halifax and Rishworth on local busses. (Senior coach card.)
I stayed one night at the Malthouse just down from BS, pretty ...

Re: I’m Glad I Went To Bongo Spares….I Can See Clearly Now The Crack Has Gone
Well done Mike, and the Bongo Spares team. =D>
By chance I picked ours up from there yesterday, major work, but they have done me proud. 8)
Dang. If I'd known, we could have met up for a cherry cola ha ha. Yes I was impressed by how good the vibe was there. V pleased to hear you're sticking ...

I’m Glad I Went To Bongo Spares….I Can See Clearly Now The Crack Has Gone
…I can see all obstacles in my way.
My windscreen cracked last week. Don’t recall a stone hitting it though there was a chip near the crack. I was concerned to get the replacement done by an outfit that knew Bongos (having read a few bad news stories about them being fitted at home by a ...
