We often use
http://www.pencelli-castle.com/
just outside Brecon.
There's a pub in the village that does food (haven't tried it though) and you can cycle down the tow path into the town.
Nice site but not the cheapest.
Opens early Feb

Re: Wanted - suggestions for a beach site in South Wales
Thanks both !
That site ticks all the boxes.
Seems like a perfect location and with the facilities we need.
Found lots of OK sites by Googl'ing but that one looks to be the best by far !
Steve
It's an absolute cracker and by far my favourite beach campsite.
You can't book so don't turn up on ...

Re: Cab beds
Hi,
My wife and I knocked this one up a few years go and our little one still uses it (he's 4 in May) although this will be the last summer.
Obviously, it's a hammock (so packs away tiny) not a stretcher bed but it only cost a few quid to knock up and is totally safe.
If your kid(s) are older ...

Re: Calais to the French Riviera: Any Suggested Campsites?
This is very useful as it supposedly lists just about every campsite in France so get it out about an hour before you're due to pull over and choose a campsite.
We've stayed over night in a few motorway service station aires (not the picnic ones) as they are well lit and often have a specific area ...

Re: France in July/August
The Tarn Gorge area is gorgeous, not touristy and very scenic. Loads and loads of river fun, great weather and that "French" feel. Not too many Brits.

Re: France in July/August
A very beautiful region with lakes and forests and hills is the Limousin... We go there every year as my mother has a house there. Very few English people around and not touristy at all. Lovely lakes to swim in. The weather is variable as it's in the middle of France. Personally, I prefer it to the ...

Thanks for the replies.
July sounds like the most sensible time so might well just go for it and see what happens.
Mmm, cheese and red wine....

Just got back from the auto-electrican [-o<
Insisted they remove the relay and refund me...absolutely no chance they said!
They wanted me to book the van in so they could check the electrics, send off the relay for testing and sort of implied the fault might be with my baby Bongo. :shock ...

Re: Leisure battery drain - advice please
Arghhh that in-line fuse (you only have ONE fuse right ?) is right next to the relay and presumably that is the Orange wire that goes to the L/B ?
This is why you need TWO fuses one close to the S/B (the one fitted) and one close to the L/B, then when the Orange wire chaffs and shorts to the ...

France in July/August
Hi,
Our little boy starts school this year so no more out of season 3 week trips in September :(
We like to be flexible and not book anything (campsites that is not ferries!) but are aware that July/August are the busiest periods.
Any suggestions or experience as to areas that might not be too ...
