Re: Rust - is this the end of the road?

It depends whereabouts you are in the country and how much you love your Bongo. Your list doesn't sound that bad, have a look through THIS and you'll see that a lot can be done with an angle-grinder and a good bit of sheet-metalworking...

Re: Allan's Vehicle Services

Sad news, Allan is a top bloke. In 2011 we were on our inaugural tour of Cornwall (haven’t been back yet…) and we suddenly needed front discs & pads (should have been a bit more thorough on the pre-tour checks). Allan’s was closed for refurbishment or some major works but he opened up and sorted...

Will's Whereabouts

This guy has done a load of stealth-camping videos on YouTube, quite a good watch. Well he's just been away in a Bongo and posted THIS up - could be useful for potential newbies....

Re: Touring Europe in a diesel

I don't know the current rules on low-emission-zones but steering clear of city centres is a good ploy anyway. A lot of parking is height-restricted so when we went in 2014 in Bongy, we parked outside the likes of Marseilles, Barcelona, Valencia, Madrid, Seville, Lisbon etc and just got the train or...

Blimey Ian, that's a shocker, we've known Marianne of course for 15 years or so. Sincere condolences from all of Team Muz.

Colours? - Newbury, Berkshire

Spotted yesterday in Newbury, Berkshire. I've painted out the plate to save the owner's blushes

Re: Driveaway awning

Yes, as Geoff says, slide the Kador strip out which leaves the figure-8 attached to the drive-away awning but detached from the canopy, so you can drive off. It's common to place a couple of tent pegs by your wheels on that side before you move, so you can park back in almost the same spot to make r...

Still got the Bongo Mike, but it's getting little use nowadays. But I do have a cunning plan north of the border for the end of the month....

Re: Just another 800 mile trip......

Nice one Mike, good to see you're keeping the Bongo going well. Just done 1,130 miles in 43 hours, but sadly in a car. M6, M25 & M20 closures plus the Paris périférique partially scuppered our plans but we're now in the middle of nowhere, where we'll remain for a couple of weeks in españa, havin...

Re: Solar panels

Second that, we had a panel installed by them in 2014 in readiness for our assault on Iberia - see HERE if you were unfortunate enough to have missed that - it's still going strong and kept our stock of cerveza, cava, chorizo & queso cool for later enjoyment
