Re: Max Headroom
Laura has been in touch, I've let her know we are aware of what's happened and the responses from BF, she's replied with "Thanks Chris, that means an awful lot and he would be so overwhelmed with how loved and respected he was. We have a huge hole in our lives and will be a struggle to get thro...

Bumping this in memory of the magnificent Max Headroom and yet another fine example of how you guys go to extreme lengths to help each other out.
It's sad to see you leave us Nic, you'll be deeply missed.

Re: Bongo friendly garages in Yorkshire and the North East
Its a good two hours drive from you but my local Bongo friendly spannerman did pretty much the same work on mine last summer for a little over £300.Bearing in mind working round the drivers side sill needs extra care when removing the rear heater matrix plus bleeding the coolant system again, it's a...

As said above, the last half inch needs a little help once things get to a certain age. A little spray of light oil on the runners & rams often helps. I used to use the cooking stuff in a squirty can from Crisp & Dry. Always worked a treat!

Re: Fitted a new rad today but....?
Without wishing to sound alarmist I would suggest that this is not going to be a quick & easy job. Engine oil in the bleed tube doesn't sound right and the chances are if you have had a few overheating episodes, some damage has been done to the head but if oil had got into the coolant it would t...

One consistent problem with mine has been trying to get some heat in.
What is the temp reading after 10 mins running - on the dash gauge? Does it sit happily at the 12 o'clock position?

It was like the Good Old Days - seeing so many familiar faces, combined with a good sprinkling of fresh new faces. Fantastic & a good reminder of how tight a bunch us Bongo peeps are! Well done Chell from all of us & thanks again to Ady for having yet another bash at sorting out my perpetual...

Re: Bongo friendly garages in Yorkshire and the North East
Assuming it's more a "weep" than a leak, I agree with Northern Bongolow. They all have it but it never seems to become a problem that will inur any damage or expense (exept the occasional dose of Gunk to clean it off). Maybe stick the camshaft seals on your shopping list for the next cambe...

Re: Engine quick warm up button
With all due respect Ady, in the past it has been documented that this switch is an opiton for those sold in Northern Japan where temperatures can drop below -20c in winter. Bearing in mind this never happens here you are likely to whirl up a bit of gubbins that has sat solid for ten years or so and...

Valid point Mike. Mine didn't exactly get better but stopped being quite so bad when I put a big new Bosch under the bonnet.
