Air-con relay I think?
Hello there, where is the air-con relay located? On my old bongo I used to get a click and the air-con would start but on my new one I don't and the air-con clutch doesn't engage. I have turned the pump with a 10mm socket and it isn't seized. The led light on the facia for the air-con comes on so I ...

Re: Decent shell wanted
Friends of mine run the Bongo Doctor in Plymouth (formerly Bongobits) and I value their opinion and I have looked underneath and it is very crusty. If nothing suitable comes along I may have to bite the bullet but will be approx £500 of welding, and then 2 tyres, wipers etc...

Wanted spares or repairs Bongo with MOT
Hi there, are there any bongos going for spares/repairs due to engine problems with an MOT? Mine has a rust problem and no MOT but a decent engine. Thanks, Russ

Re: Front brakes dragging
The strange thing is that is has happened so suddenly and on both front callipers. I worked the pistons in and out on one caliper after cleaning the pistons with brake cleaner and then greased them as I have done numerous times before. The brakes are working great but not releasing. Fluid was change...

Front brakes dragging
Dear all, I like to think myself as being reasonably savvy but I'm a bit stumped so any suggestions.... Basically my front brakes are dragging to the point they are getting hot and smelly so I can't use it. It did appear to be just one caliper at first so I squeezed the pistons almost all the way ou...

Bongo Stereo wiring help
Hello there, a few years back I ripped out the old stereo, fitted an ISO adapter harness and fitted another stereo from my old car. This stereo has given up the ghost so I got hold of another stereo from a friend, plugged it in and it didn't work. Got given another couple of old stereos (known to be...

Re: Frankenstein engine thoughts.....
My wife has an electric tricycle which I have modified to 48v 750w and the torque and acceleration is fantastic, the motor is inside the front wheel so it wheelspins from a standstill if not careful

Re: Frankenstein engine thoughts.....
In Australia and New Zealand there is a bit of a cult fitting Skyline engines and the like into the older model (pre 95) Bongos with great hilarity. 6 cylinder 2.5 turbo with an was 400bhp with basic mods.

Re: Frankenstein engine thoughts.....
LPG has an incredibly high octane so is very good with boost.
A supercharger would be best for bottom end, tree stump pulling torque, such as an Eaton but a mini Cooper one would be too small, something off a Merc/Jag?

Re: Frankenstein engine thoughts.....
Hi Mike, I was only going on what I had read which suggested that the Probe/MX6 V6 was the same base engine. I can't find much reference to the 3-litre quad cam lump.

Re: Frankenstein engine thoughts.....
Turbos...... Been looking at Kia Sedona 2.9 IHI RHB5 turbos, little bit bigger and higher rated engine, turbo is ball bearing. Mounting flange on manifold would need opening up and compressor housing moved around (clocked) but they are very cheap £35 Isuzu Trooper et al 3.0 straight fit but compress...
