Re: A sad bongo farewell.....

Well that's the Bongo sold now. Hope the new owners have as much fun as we did over the years. At least we know we can hire one from our friends who run a Bongo hire business when we get withdrawal symptoms. Happy Bongo-in everyone!!

All the best

David.

Thanks Jim. Great to see you are enjoying your new motor home. We will be sad to see the Bongo go, but we have had fun with it.

Re: A sad bongo farewell.....

Yep we are definitely a fan of the Eriba! Really well planned out and not too big for towing / parking and storing. But for now I think we need to look for something the kids can learn on. Just another exciting stage in their growing up!

Cheers David.

Re: A sad bongo farewell.....

Thanks for the kind words folks (and congratulations on Grandpa-hood Dabs!) The bongo would be a great retirement vehicle Mike. Very useful for fetching and carrying when you do all those jobs about the place you have been putting off!! (you don't honestly think you will just be able to drive off in...

A sad bongo farewell.....

After seven and a half years of Bongo ownership, we have finally taken the painful decision to sell up, and the bongo is on the for sale page here (white AFT 2003). When we bought the van back in 2008 my daughter was 9. She is now about to turn 17 and will soon be learning to drive herself. With tha...

Re: rear heater matrix removal

From memory (and it was a few years ago we replaced ours after a freeze and burst) you will need to take out the whole housing, which will require you to disconnect the gas line and regas the system as well. I don't think it can be done any other way, but happy to be proved wrong. Its a bit of a pes...

Re: Weather

Opps! I meant that the River Tweed is about 500 ft BELOW our house. Still as the towns round here are built in Glens (valleys) and the approach roads to them wind round the hillsides we are just off the main Carlisle to Edinburgh road 5 mins from the bus stop and just over a mile out of town. With ...

Re: COBB® BARBECUE COOKING SYSTEM?

We have used a Cobb for a few years now. Works well but not as funky as Matt's wedding cake arrangement of hot pots. :) I find a griddle or a gillie by my side is more use than a girlie! ;)

Re: Alloy wheel center caps - pain to find?

I had the same problem Matt. I ended up using branston pickle lids sprayed up and with mazda stick on logos. That was about 6 years ago and they are still there, but starting to rust. I decided (in Scottish tradition) to keep my nuts exposed, so replaced with shiny new ones. :D Hope you find what yo...

That looks great. I really look forward t seeing the finished article. Remember to fit a vapor barrier between the ply and the insulation before you line.

Re: help, garage can't fix my bongo

You could try GBL Motors, Duff Street Lane, Dalry, Edinburgh. I have not used them myself, but believe they know their bongos from other posts on here. May be worth giving them a call to reassure you before you book it in?

Cheers

Re: Where can I buy a body skirt kit?

You could try contacting these guys. http://www.bongospares.co.uk/ they may have one from a late van they are breaking? As for fitting, they bolt on under the cills. I tried to take ours off to clean up some minor bits of rust, but gave up when I could not get one of the nuts to move. The front and ...
