Re: Wheels of Change
I have extra strength 245/45-R18 100W, I think these are quite a common tyre and are found on range rovers etc. perfectly ok.

Re: Wheels of Change
mine has the 18" RX8 wheels and an RX8 spare. Does it make it handle better? yes, it does make a difference, even at Bongo speeds.

Re: sunday drive
Locals drive VERY carefully on that road at night because the deer like to stand on it and lick the salt of the road. please be careful because it takes no prisoners.

Re: 18" RX8 wheel's too big or ok?
me too. Tyres are not all that troublesome because they are a popular SUV fit and have high load ratings. I also mod'd the spare wheel carrier to take an RX-8 18" wheel! I'm about to get mine re-powder-coated!

Re: Another dash cam
I have dashcams on the cars and bongo. The funniest thing was when the subaru was in the subaru dealer for service - the mechanics left the ignition on and it recorded them arguing about which subaru model it was (!!!!) and then watched them slam the bonnet down on top of the oil filler cap (which t...

Re: Campers Scotland
I also used to use Bill before he retired; but used Campers Scotland last time to fix a coolant hose (i.e. a complicated fix) and they did it really well I was pleasantly surprised. I'm glad they are moving because they did not have enough room at Tilli and bongo's could easily get bumped or scratch...

Re: Bill's retired. so has my bongo... :-(
excellent - thanks Sara. I'm based in Bridge of Allan so Tilli is pretty convenient for me. It's a bit more than a bleed job unfortunately!!!

Bill's retired. so has my bongo... :-(
Just had an email from Bill and Campercraft is no more. Does anyone know any other good quality Bongo mechanics in central Scotland? I know there is a bongo garage in Tillicoultry but I've never used them for mechanical stuff before. Any help much appreciated because I need some coolant jobs done (a...

Re: New stereo draining my battery (I think)
I bought one of those all-singing all dancing units as well - but i put a wee round rocker switch on the sidewall of the little compartment under the radio slot so every time i leave the bongo i just kill all power to the radio. i did this to stop the LB draining whilst stationary. Also, bear in min...

Re: Work has Started
If you are going to use LEDs, use the high power CREE xpg or xlm. There's a new one at 1600 lumens but it is not generally available yet. There are things to think about. 1. the led colour temperature. Too low, and the bulbs look blue and will fail mot. Also, blue is not friendly to the eyes. I blam...

Re: new wheels
what profile tyres have you go on there? They look like 35's (i.e. the actual RX-8 tyres...) I have much deeper tyres with high load sidewalls.
