interesting, could you send me some details of this or pictures? I was planning to use a battery guard plugged straight into the power outlet to stop it draining anyway, so I may try this until I do a proper permanent job on it with a willinton

thanks, this looks the right kind of thing - as I already have a battery in place I assume I could (be-a-cheap-skate-and-be-lazy) use that one (its a starter battery rather than leisure, how much difference is there?).
I know I can get this done locally as Bristol is Bongo central, but fancy saving ...

Running power outlets with ignition off
I know this may get me shouts of derision, but is there a simple way to run the power to the cigarette lighters / power outlets with the ignition off to set up a "poor man's leisure battery"?

It seems to be manual, i.e. is independent of the ignition and stays on all the time. It is also not terrible accurate but generally seems to be ...
