Re: Removing Decals
I have just done this, I used a heat gun and a small plastic scraper (that came with a can of car body filler). This got the decals off but left a glue residue. On the glue residue I used car paint thinners (Brake cleaner seemed to work but I ran out) on a cloth and again the plastic scraper. Got qu...

Mazda RX8 Spare wheel
Hi all, Running Mazda RX8 Wheels, has anyone tried fitting one of these in place of the space saver spare? Came out to check the van and to my horror had a puncture in the sidewall on the day before a early morning booked ferry to the Isle of White! Nowhere could I get hold of a replacement tyre nee...

Front Diff Oil leak
I've been cheerfully overlooking a leaky front differential oil seal for some time as I have had no luck finding the replacement part.
It's the seal where the prop shaft goes in. (not the drive shafts)
How about oil seal swell additive, such as "Wynn's Engine Stop Leak" is it worth a try?

Flat Battery
A recommendation for a replacement starter battery (not the leisure battery) would be appreciated as mines due for replacement.

Re: Wheel wobble
Yes it did seem high to me too, my problem had been with the wheels moving on the hub, resulting on inspection in indentations on the centre hole in the alloy wheel. I'd drive off on the motorway all reasonably O.K hit a bump then have even worse steering wheel shake because I believe the road wheel...

Re: Wheel wobble
I had the same ongoing problem until by chance I drove past a Bongo dealer whilst on holiday in Cornwall, a quick U turn and after a wait the mechanics had a look. I have RX8 alloys with 235/50 R18 tyres. The wheels were not balanced well enough even though I had them balanced twice before at two di...

Re: Front Differential Oil Seal
No luck finding a replacement oil seal, Mazda AVA etc all no reply. A friend has the same problem on his Bongo, been leaking for years, just tops up the diff every now and then.

Re: Front Differential Oil Seal
Thanks for the tip but the breather at the top of the diff is clear. The seal has been wet looking with oil for a year or more, after the last trip the underside of the plastic shrouding was sprayed with a mist of oil, I keep putting off changing the oil seal as when I remove the oil filler plug the...

Re: Mazda Rx8 Alloy Wheels 225/45/18 - will they go straight
Sorry wrong way round, I will be doing a dead 50 on the speedo through road works or speed restrictions on the motorway and I will be under the sat nav speed by at least 3mph. I need to do over 50 on the speedo to be actually at 50mph.

Re: Mazda Rx8 Alloy Wheels 225/45/18 - will they go straight
I too have RX8 ALLOYS with 235/50 R18 budget tyres Achilles Desert Hawk H/T101V 149MPH 825KG's rated. No wheel arch fouling. My speedo reads under compared to sat nav e.g. 48mph on speedo actual speed 50mph, so no problems there. Wheel nuts have had to be done up tight to torque 147N.m (108 ft-lb) a...

Rear View Mirror
Hi, I have problems with the stick on rear view mirror, it keeps falling off the windscreen and I now have damage to the dash.
It is often adjusted due to more than one driver and never stays up for long. Any modifications anyone?
