Re: Air Con Pag oil Quantity

Finally got around to fitting a new pump.

Thanks for the info, so that would be 200 grams as it says on top of the pump ( it came empty) plus 14 grams for the system.

Re: self bleed kits?

I copied an idea that was posted on here a while ago.

Feed the bleed hose up to the header tank & T in to one of the hoses their. I fitted an on / off tap behind the passenger footwell panel so it can be accessed when driving.

Bleeding the system is a doddle with this fitted.

Air Con Pag oil Quantity

Reading through the previous topics on air con it seems nothing definite on quantities. Diesel Bongo with the Zexel DKS ac pump. Looking at the sticker on top of the pump it says: "OIL 200cm2" which I would interpret as 200ml PAG 46 oil in total for the system. Looking at similar vehicles ...

Re: Tent roof rails pulling out of AFT

Many thanks, those screws were almost impossible to loosen, managed to do the minimum to gain just enough access to re glue & screw. :D

Tent roof rails pulling out of AFT

Some of the roof screws that go through the aluminium bars that hold the cloth tent to the AFT roof have pulled right out. There is plastic from the roof around the screw threads which seems to make it impossible to get the screws out from the bar.

Any advice for repair would be most welcome.

Re: Air Con Pump Bearing

There is enough room & length in the pipes to work on the pump after removing the alternator. Unfortunately the bearing has 12 peens holding it in

Re: Radiator

Thanks, yes I cut off the EGR system and consigned it to the bin nearly 10 years ago! :D it did seem to run better :D I read in an article from 2010 I have, by Allans Vehicles that he had fitted a "Heavy Duty" radiator to a 2.5td Bongo . Not seen any of these so have ordered a new pattern ...

Re: Air Con Pump Bearing

Looks if I remove the alternator there may be enough room to work on the air con pump without disconnecting it and loosing the gas.

Any tips appreciated

Re: Radiator

I try to change the oil as soon as it looks dirty. Seem to get longer out of the oil if plodding along, but have the necessity to drive flat out for extended periods. (London to Prague in one go ).

Have done the temperature guage mod. Often driving on the temperature guage.

Re: Radiator

When driven hard the oil seems to go black quicker, probably due to excessive heat? :?

RX8 Alloys

I have minor scuffs on the RX8 Alloys fitted to my Bongo. Not bad enough to make it worth having them powder coated. I'm looking for a reasonable match silver paint to blow over the filler. Any Ideas? :?: :?:
