Re: First trip using the base seconds as an awning

Second trip completed, again using the base seconds as an awning. Again seconds to put up and only a couple of minutes to put away. Still think a simple canopy would help. Think I'm going to get the green quechua tarp from decathlon and sew a pocket in one end to allow it it attach to the bongo wit...

Re: First trip using the base seconds as an awning

The Base Seconds is a brilliant product. When we had our Bongo after trying this, we stopped using the Khyam that we also had altogether. We also have the inner tent so can use it for sleeping too. IMHO drive aways that connect to the van are too much of a faff trying to get everything aligned perfe...

Re: Solar again - Fixed vs Portable

Vote for portable here. I have a 60w portable, have wires connected to LB, fused and then poke out at the front of the grill. Easy to connect/disconnect and can follow "the sun" whatever that thing is  Comes in a padded bag at fits nicely in the van when not in use. Works a treat. Yes...

Re: Leisure Battery

Interesting, it was my fridge that alerted me too.
It does fine for about 10 hours and then flashes the not enough juice light.
The battery has been worked hard so I'm going to give it a rest and get a new one.

Re: Leisure Battery

Recently got solar which helps a lot but previously the LB has had 2 major drains and has had to do some hard work.

Looks like it may be time to change it.

Leisure Battery

I know there's no definitive answer to this question but on average how long should a leisure battery last?

Mine's about two and a half years old now and is struggling to provide the juice that it used to.

SMEV leaky tap

I have the usual SMEV sink/cooker combo with the blue and red push on pipe connectors for the hot and cold water. Pipes attached with jubilee clips. It seems that my problem is a common one of this being a poor connection, often having to be fettled with to stop the tap leaking at this joint. The qu...

If you are wanting to use the Toll motorways to get to your destination faster.... I'd recommend a toll tag.... from https://www.saneftolling.co.uk/ Sooooo much time saved at the booths and billed a month later..... obviously if you are using the RN's then you wont need one,but if you are heading S...
