Just buy one of the normal universal caps from an auto shop or petrol stations, thats what i had to do when i took my Bongo cap off after a few months of the cutting out problems, when its time for the mot put the bongo cap on but dont screw it full in, just give it a couple of turns :P

You might have left your Deus switched in the on mode :shock: you should fit the tyres from October to March, winter tyres arnt just for snow, the rubber on them is softer to handle in cold road tempratures, there doesnt need to be any snow or frost.

He wont have been getting rust off of his metal detecting finds, it will have been hard crud and the finds will most likely have been bronze or copper with the odd silver, he will have to have been very careful and kept his eyes on them as stripping them to base metal would ruin them :P Its ok to us...

What did the full service entale, did they do anything that you do with normal cars that shouldnt with a Bongo ? change the water for instance sort of thing.

Mazda rang me this morning and said they cant get the screws form GB or EU but they can order them from Japan, it will take a month at a cost of £1.04p each and will post to me as soon as they arrive :P result and no bodging needed :D

And mine didnt stall in neutral neither it ran ok, in fact it was neutral that saved me as i could build the revs up to get in gear and drive off :D

The first thing he should do is drive with the petrol cap off because if it is that it will save him lots of messing about and money too, i wish i had done that when i first had the prob. Just cleaning the cap in soapy water might not do it as i did mine seveal times and even took it to bits but it ...

Take your petrol cap off and drive as normal, but keep it off for the full day, if it doesnt happen then thats the fault, your petrol cap :D if your worried about driving without the petrol cap on buy a cheap tempory one from a petrol statio they are around 2-3 quid :P

Hi Rita thanks for reply, the tip of the rivet gun wont go into the channel, i have tried plenty :D
