Re: E10 Fuel
With my 2002 2L petrol engine and slightly too old VIN I'll use E5 and see what transpires. It will cost me a few quid more but hopefully will mean that Bunty lasts a bit longer.

My VIN is SGEW-503155 so looks like I am one of the unlucky ones.

Re: Mazda hub caps
Hello MarionW, I have never been successful in posting a picture but could email you a photo if you want to PM your email address. The hub caps do have the Mazda symbol in the centre so it sounds like they are the one's I need. I would be interested in 2 if available. I will be at the Bongo Bash on ...

Mazda hub caps
Hello, I had a tyre blow out on the A38 last night. Luckily all is well apart from having to buy a new tyre tomorrow and that my hub cap has disintegrated. Does anybody have one to sell? I am in Staffordshire.

Re: 20 y.o Bongo Euro breakdown cover, possible ?
I have the Nationwide current account and it works well for us. They have just increased the monthly payments to £13 per month but good for UK and European breakdown cover, free travel insurance, mobile insurance etc. They also pay 3% interest on the amount you have in the account (up to £2500) I do...

Re: Bongo Aero 2.0L DVD unit with rear parking camera
I doubt it very much. The reversing camera is very useful but when I had a new Pioneer double DIN unit fitted I hoped to connect the factory fitted camera to it. Although it was fitted by an auto electrician they couldn't get it to work. Good luck!

Re: Last few jobs
Hello, I did get a new thermostat fitted last year which fixed the temperature gauge and heating, but they have stopped working again. Would you expect a new thermostat to only last 12 months or do you think something else may be wrong? I have been very happy with Bunty for the 4 years I have had he...

Re: Aftermarket Elevating Roof
I had one fitted by Skyline Roofs in Weston Super Mare. Very strong and solid with excellent durable canvas. Ian Taylor was impressed when he saw it.

Re: Bongo ownership continues. Yippee!!
A great post and one I totally agree with. We have only had Bunty for three years but she is a part of the family and this year we have been to three music festivals (no more tents for me!) and two weeks holiday in France, with another weekend away in Northumberland booked for next month. Just passe...

Memory foam from Comfortz is the way forward. Gets more comfortable the more times you sleep on it. I had a memory foam pillow as well. Struggled for a couple of nights but slept like a log after that.

Re: Tail gate lights
When the rear light bulb went on my 2002 bongo I got it changed at a local garage. The poor mechanic had quite a job and cut a finger in the process. £10 well spent.

Off to France
Not long now until our first Bongo trip abroad. Thanks to the advice on here I think I have everything I need. One question (which I am struggling to find an answer to) Can I take butane gas canisters on the Ferry? Just the small ones to use with a small £10 gas cooker?

Re: I know I probably shouldn't have...
I had the same problem with my 2L petrol bongo when I bought it. My Bongo friendly garage had a couple of attempts to fix it but without success. My thread is on here somewhere, and due to the fact that the gauge moved when stationary in slow moving traffic it was suggested that I get a new thermost...
