ASDA do a £3, 11 litre box. I had a few of these under the seats. Couldn't fit many clothes perhaps, but handy size for small stuff.

Re: Gear trouble - NO flashing hold light
Quicky update - huge thanks to Ady and Shell for putting me up and putting up with me last week. It was a long drive in 3rd, but worth it. ;) Cheers to bongospares for getting me sorted with a replacement gearbox! :D I've got the old box sitting out back, will open it up for a laugh and see if there...

Re: Gear trouble - NO flashing hold light
Nope. When we cleaned out the filter and pan in order to refit, the flecks of what looked like alloy and copper (two distinct colours, and neither sticking to the magnet) may well support the idea that it's something more serious. Been quoted £300 to have the valve body (off the vehicle) sent away t...

Re: Gear trouble - NO flashing hold light
The frustration now is that having received a new solenoid pack this morning and got round to testing the old shift solenoids, they test ok - 60psi air line pressure and 12v stops the airflow. I suspect the new solenoid pack will make no difference. I'm guessing it could be a stuck valve in the valv...

Re: Gear trouble - NO flashing hold light
Strange video. Depressing the button hard enough usually release plugs for me but it doesn't seem to do anything in this video. Whats it there for then? If I get what you're getting at, the button is just to release the plug from the connector and included in that animation just to show orie...

Re: Gear trouble - NO flashing hold light
Thought I was on to something when the TPSCR wasn't testing up, tried to access the innards, destroyed the housing, then it tested up ok again! Anyway, pulled the two shift solenoid pins out the back of the ECU connector, wrapped a couple of 12V LED leads around the crimps and put them back i...

Re: Gear trouble - NO flashing hold light
OK - so if they're combined, I can reference the "engine table" also, and having removed EGR, I'll see if I can first silence the 16 code with a pull up or pull down - I'll work it out. Which would mean I'm getting no codes from the ECU. I want to check revs/speed too to see if it top and ...

Re: Gear trouble - NO flashing hold light
Its listed as; Fault code table for gearbox 16 EGR valve position sensor Which seems a trifle odd for the AT computer to be reporting but there we go ...... Thanks, Geoff. What's the source of that? http://www.philmcfadden.co.uk/MazdaDiagnosticBox.htm has that under engine faults but not transmissi...

Re: Gear trouble - NO flashing hold light
Can anyone identify AT fault code 16?
Doing fuel filter later today. TPS appears to test ok when warm.
