Re: Connecting a solar panel
If you use the rear cig socket, apart from your solar only working with the ignition on (easily remedied mind you), you will also be sending your precious solar energy down some very thin cables, losing some voltage on the way. Much bettery to run a dedicated pair of cables to the battery, or to the...

Re: Leisure battery keeps going flat
You could always get a solar panel or start the bongo for charging But I have a 75ah good quality battery that I've had for years and that outlast 1 of the 110ah ones I have ( and that's a good brand ) The 75ah is as heavy as the 110 I was thinking that also and suspect that I'll look at fitting so...

Re: Waeco FR-35 Compressor fridge
You wouldn't know if the low voltage protection had kicked in on the fridge - the fridge comes back on when the battery recovers a bit. You end up with a fridge that goes off more often than it should, but still runs some of the time. It still appears cold. An easy test is to put an ice cube in the ...

Re: Waeco FR-35 Compressor fridge
If you are going to leave your fridge on all spring, summer, winter, then make sure your fridge is connected via your solar charger/regulator so you get the low voltage cut off protection. It's very common for us to have days or weeks of gloomy weather and in that instance, the solar won't keep up a...

Re: Small Solar Panel
I can help with 100W kits. http://www.solarcampersolutions.co.uk I've found 80w is the bare minimum for keeping a fridge going. I sell and install 100W kits to give a bit of headroom. You can certainly buy one panel and add another later, as long as your charger can handle the current, though it's o...

Re: Solar panel
how big is the panel if its to big for a bongo roof     Surprisingly most 100W panels are too big for the AFT - they are either too wide to take advantage of tge existing bolt holes, or too long and obscure teh sonroof. I have two types of 100W flex that fit and only one ...

Interesting that South Gloucestershire was mentioned. The buyer of mine said she was from there, then an Eastern European man turned up from... Bristol. They bought my bongo, all above board, except for the fact she made up a story about failing to buy a Bongo due to a bereavement (of the seller's f...

Re: Dodgy Bristol Bongo seller - several aliases?
Well they are still trading Bongos. Sold mine to them! I checked my bank statement and the deposit was from.... Qureshi - the wife :-) They paid a fair price for the condition and mileage and sold it on for another £1k. I found out as the new owner rang me to ask about the cambelt. She made up a sto...

Re: Relay wanted/offered
Hi - I'm looking at getting a car transporter trailer - single axle, less than 250kg, with nothing on it - from Glossop in Derbyshire, to Taunton in Somerset, or perhaps where the M5 meets the M4 at Almondsbury it you are not coming further south. I'll give you some cash for the few less MPG. If you...

Re: front passenger seat
years ago having done beautiful repair to the floor of my mums mgb I sent her back to our local mot station (minus seat to show off to tester) for the re-test only for her to come back for me to fit the seat as he refused to test the car without it. he's not normally too fussy about stuff (if you k...

With a 3 way you are going to need to cut a large hole in the side of your van to accomodate a gas flue.
