Re: Modifying the temperature gauge compatible with the 2.0L
Hi Kernongo, I too drive a 2.0l and the guage sits at 11:00 o'clock as soon as its warmed up, it doesn't move when chugging up hills (yes it will get there) or sitting in traffic.

Re: Loss of power and very high fuel consumption - 2l petrol
Any chance of a bigger hint for us mortals than "fat" pipe going to the Mass air flow meter Haydn, maybe a piccy with a big arrow? I only get 16mpg in the cold with very short journeys, and 22-25 on a long run if wearing slippers

Does my bum look big in this?
Although on the larger size I do have a small unpadded derriere, and since xmas I've noticed I can feel the seatbelt bracket on one side and the adjuster bracket on the other. I hate cushions so has anyone ever padded out the seat?

Re: New Battery but Bongo not starting
I had a similar 'batttery flat over weekend' problem in the summer. 321away identified a constant drain when everything was switched off, and they knew which relay under the bonnet didn't close properly so wired in another relay to shut the offender down. Its worth checking for a battery drain ...

Re: Very noisy 2.0l
I have a 1999 2L Bongo and although louder than any car I've owned its certainly not noisy enough to stop conversation or force a turn up of the radio. I'm watching with interest.

Re: Daily Titter - content warning!
I just got off the phone with friend living in North Dakota near the Canadian border. He said that since early this morning the snow has been nearly waist high and is still falling. The temperature is dropping way below zero and the north wind is increasing to near gale force. His wife has done ...

Re: Little test on my 2L petrol
I don't have a fuel light (no extras at all it appears =P~ ) so this sounds a dangerous practice to me. I prefer to fill until the pump cuts out, drive the miles and then fill up again from the same pump and calculate the mileage over a longer disitance. I dream of that sort of economy as in winter ...

Re: 2 Litre Starting
Sounds to me like the choke not working. My 2L starts on the first turnover every time, the method I use is to press accelerator once to set the choke then keep off the pedal when turning the key. I did have a starting problem when cold (during summer) but that was a battery issue which I'm sure you ...

Re: Battery keeps going flat
I may have an answer for you as my Bongo runs fine if used every day, but when it was left over the weekend the battery was too low to turn the starter. 321away sorted it out today (under warranty) as there was still a constant 0.4amp drain when everything was switched off, and they knew which relay ...

Re: 2.0 or 2.5 Petrol
I just want to stand up for the 2.0 engine, its quiet, reasonably economical, and on the flat is as quick as I need it to be, I mean you don't want the kettle to fall over on the curves ....

Re: 2.0 or 2.5 Petrol
Yes only Diesel is 4wd. As for engine size, if you don't want to lift the seats there is a plate on the drivers door jam with engine size marked.

Corfe Castle this weekend
I'm planning a trip to Corfe this weekend but local C&C site is full. The NT says no overnight parking in their car park, but it has no barriers, they don't care what time you leave or arrive the next day, so how does that work? Any suggestions for wild camp nearby?

Hello all, we have just bought a Bongo and need lots of hints and tips so see you there. Is there a postcode for the car park just in case there's 2 car parks full of Bongos

Intermittent temperature guage on 2.0L
Sometimes the guage sits at 11 o'clock, then drops to nothing and returns later, other times nothing at all, presumably a bad earth somewhere, any ideas where to start
probably help to say its a June 99 model (doh)
