Re: Incessant beeping on a test drive

I have measured up the old buzzer. It has a 6.5mm pitch, and I'm reading 6.85V AC @2.51kHZ across the pins (using a meter rather than a scope) with the key out, headlights on and door open. There is an IC next to it (C3247 55J) which appears to be an NPN transistor used to drive the buzzer. The only...

Re: Incessant beeping on a test drive

I have a supply of 12 volt buzzers if you want one....hovever I expect this will only give you a louder problem.....first find out what is causing the buzzer to be buzzing. Hi, Hadyn. Aha... do you happen to know already if the ones you have are compatible with the buzzer box PCB, both physically a...

Re: Incessant beeping on a test drive

I've just encountered the very same problem!! My partner called to say that there's very loud beeps coming from our Bongo, we don't have a coolant alarm, we don't have an AFT so the only other possibility is the key beep thing? Which was already disabled. I'll have a look later to see whats what Go...

Re: Incessant beeping on a test drive

Cheers, Dave. I'm chuffed as! I've never bought a 2nd hand vehicle before, and never had issues with our other car. I've also never worked on a car before, but consider myself techie enough to give it a go. I've removed the buzzer box (S25E (67 720) Timer & Buzzer DC 12V Imasen. After removing t...

Re: Incessant beeping on a test drive

Cheers, Bob and rapid. The van is now mine (for better or worse). Perhaps I'm just in denial, but coolant level is not low. If anything it's too high. I can see no sensors on the tank, and unless I'm both missing the sensor and a coolant alarm is installed with the buzzer located near the blue buzze...

Re: Incessant beeping on a test drive

I was totally fobbed off by the garage today. They claimed that they fixed the problem I reported (incessant beeping) but evidently failed to address the fact that it was barely audible at all. They said a corroded wire or connector was identified and rectified, but they clearly didn't test the syst...

Re: First day meet 2011?

Unfortunately, I can't make the first day meet as I'll be up the hills. I can't make Elie, either (hills, again).

I hope to come out to play later in the year, though.

Re: Incessant beeping on a test drive

Thanks, folks. It seems like the roof sensor/switch is strong candidate - I'm sure they'll find that without me suggesting it to them. Mike, interesting you say there are two buzzers - I thought if there was one, it was perhaps shorted or something. They'll will obviously be fixing the cause of the ...

Re: Incessant beeping on a test drive

? was there a car in front of you at the lights? some bongo's have sonar, reverse style sensors in the front bumper, but from what your describing it sounds like the roof up beep, which beeps like a loon when the handbrake is taken off Julian There was a car in front when I noticed it, but it conti...

Re: Incessant beeping on a test drive

Absolutely! I want to sit in the driver's seat and try and make it beep in all the ways it's meant to - and actually be able to hear it when it is going off! Do you know if the "roof up" beep would change in pattern (I heard three distinct patterns) if you change gear, release the handbrak...

Incessant beeping on a test drive

I was test driving a '96 4wd last weekend (which will be mine on Monday), and noticed a fault. The buzzer was not beeping loudly - I only just heard a *very* faint high pitch beep from the dashboard when stopped at lights. Once one of the other passengers tuned in to it and we continued driving, we ...
