Re: Under seat sliding drawer
No not at all, it's a snug fit, plus I fitted the wheels so they had a very slight drag on them to prevent them moving in transit.. You could just fit two at the back as in practice you lift the front part to drag it out. Two at the back it is then, thanks for the tip. The rail approach was super q...

Re: Shakespeare and Sprouts
Wasn't it tapioca that was frogspawn, semolina is more like readimix concrete :D I found most school meals ok but boiled cabbage and their sliced beef (from our old friend the elastic cow) you had to fold about 15 times to make it stay on the fork were a particularly bad memory. That'll have been s...

Re: new member
Welcome Steve and hope you have lots of fun with the Bongo. These days I think a thorough eyes wide open search / assessment of corrosion is at the top of the to-do list. The Bongo is a great design but I recall hearing its design life in Japan was 10 years (they don't keep cars anything like as lon...

Re: Halfords Oil
Yes, thanks Ady. Really good info. Mike, nicely put, I've long thought a lot of modern stuff is just too clever for me. :? Too clever for its own good if you ask me Bob. I'm sure its all done by marketing intention and to seduce, but in the end (as in my case when thinking of getting a new smartpho...

Re: Halfords Oil
Halfords are doing oil half price, with free delivery, just now. Depends what you buy, but about £17.00 for 4 ltrs of Castrol Magnatec. Thanks for the heads up Bob. Just had a look and for 5w/30 there's an A5, a C2 and a C3 type of oil. Jeebers i don't know which to get ha ha. If you or anyone know...

Welcome. From what I've read its worth checking than control connector rods in drivers footwell have not become disconnected. But others who know more than me will hopefully comment soon.

Indeed. :D May 2021 bring all we wish. 8) As that great philosopher Mick Jagger once sang "You can't always get what you want. But if you try sometimes, you might get what you need." Well I need vaccinating for 2021   Happy New Year Ben, and to Sue also, and to all other Bongol...

Re: Merry Christmas
Belated Merry Christmas All and here 's to a better 2021. Have to say old Mango Bongo has behaved very well considering she's stood about unused so much. Starts at the touch of the key even after weeks of not being driven. And then I have to remember all over again which buttons and gauges do what :...

Re: Advice on treating rust
Good advice above. If you're determined to be lazy like me, i can say that hammerite alone is holding up well for me (i like to experiment with quick solutions where it is of no great consequence, just to see what happens). I only use it for those lightly rusted and easy to prep (clean/key) areas wh...

Re: My new bongo, called Bingu!
Welcome and hope you have many miles of happy Bongoing. Get to know her and in particular, check and prod underneath for rust and budget for welding work. Ask me how I know ha ha. But they're worth it. 14 great years with one Bongo in my case.

Re: Recommend Stainless Steel Exhaust Pipe
Ten years and over 170,000 miles later ours is still going strong, still irritating the neighbours when I go to work at 4am  I'm sure a mild steel one would have rotted through again by now. Now if they'd only made Bongos in stainless steel......... We need to have a chat with Elon ...
