Re: Flashing charge light

Geoff,

When I turn on the ignition all warning lights are on as expected When I start the engine the charge light immediately goes off for about a second or so then starts a regular on off pattern, - about a second or so on and then a second or so off.

Re: Flashing charge light

Geoff,
Thanks for the reply.
I am not sure if I have the old or new style split relay, its about 4 years since I purchased it from Karl.
Do you think it is worth disconnecting the leisure battery or would you have to remove the relay to
see if it makes a difference?

Flashing charge light

All packed and set off for a few days. Stopped for some petrol after about half an hours drive, on leaving the garage I noticed the charging light was flashing. Drove home without any problem but the light is still flashing. The van is a V6 petrol. I have a leisure battery fitted which is 3 or 4 yea...

Re: Free full size spare

Bob,

Covid put the mockers on many things. Are you still after steel rims? If so are you going to Fforest Fields? (either for the bash or any other time)?
If so I can take them there as I am spending most weekends there.

Re: V6 aircon burny smell

Similar problem last year, used additive as suggested by Geoff and ran it like that for a few months then had all seals, belt and water pump changed plus a bearing. Carried out by a Bongo experienced garage and cost me almost £800.

Had a similar problem about 18 months ago - lots of info on what to check - search for original post "Alternator slow to start" - mine ended up being alternator.

Re: Diagnose more V6 emissions? (CO,but Lambda seems fine) DON'T DELETE

I have read and re read this post with interest. Due to the current lockdown and having to be extremely cautious because of my wifes lack of immunity as a result of a cancer operation I didn't feel happy travelling 20 miles to the regular garage I normally use for an MOT. A local garage that I have ...

Re: Another unidentified noise - my V6

Just thought I would update. So my Bongo V6 was recovered to A and S Motor Repairs in Caerphilly. I knew it would have to sit there for a couple of weeks because of their commitments and leave, but not a problem because of travel restrictions and lockdown. A full cam belt kit was fitted plus the wat...

Re: Another unidentified noise - my V6

Update. Started it up today. I think the noise originates from close to the plastic cam belt cover at front right hand side of engine - the vibrations certainly feel stronger here. Tomorrow courtesy of the RAC it will be transported to A & S in Caerphilly to diagnose and repair. It would have go...

Another unidentified noise - my V6

When stationary, if I apply a few revs, there seems to be a brief clatter for 1 or 2 seconds, possibly like tin plates banging together, and the same when I reduce revs. Had both seats open and it seems to becoming from the front area of the engine. I have tried to listen for it the old fashion way ...

Re: Virus Malware Be aware

Hi plonkatronix, Thanks for the very informative reply. Some of the details I find quite alarming to say the least! I am no IT expert but do take the security seriously. I forwarded the mail to phising.gov.uk and was advised they had a backlog of 1.2 million reports! So I guess nothing will happen t...

Virus Malware Be aware

I renewed my insurance with "2gether insurance" and I was requested to send proof of mileage and membership with Bongo Fury etc, which I did. Last night I received an email with attachment from what appeared to be the insurers. The attachment should not be opened - it contains a virus. I c...

Re: V6 Cam belt and oil seals change

Geoff thanks for the reply. Hopefully I can arrange with the garage to collect and drop off, they do a lot of work with Bongo's but unfortunately about 15 miles away. Normally I drop it off and wait/shop.
