Re: Coolant tank empty

Hi

Not able to help in the Techie side, but curious. Did you buy privately or from a dealer?

Also were you given any service history etc with the van?

Oh and good luck.

Meet at Red Squirrel Glencoe

Hi It's that time of year again so I'm trying to organise a weekend meet at the Red Squirrel. If anyone is interested in coming and is on Facebook could I ask you to check the poll on the Bongo Owners Scotland group and indicate which date suits you best. It's between 23 and 24 Sep and 8 and 9 Oct. ...

In the central belt there's campers Scotland at Grangemouth or Calder leisure near Livingston. Not sure about the borders area, sorry.

Re: Calling all ex bongo owners

Thanks for all the ideas guys :D Had a one nighter in Killin at the weekend (strangely few midges by the way). Went through the usual twister moves in the evening: You sit there while I move my leg. Ok now if you put your arm up I can reach the wine. Where's my phone? Stop arguing kids! Oh no the bl...

Re: Calling all ex bongo owners

Is the Sussex camper really any bigger than a Bongo. Seems small to me, I think something bigger than that might be the order of the day if upsizing is the plan. It's not massively bigger, but it has a six foot wide bed that can be made at the front and cupboards, kitchen area at the back. Our Fred...

Re: Calling all ex bongo owners

Hi all. Love the Hiace (there are quite a few quirky ones on autotrader at the moment) but if we change we really want to go for something a bit newer (boring, dull and soulless probably). Tony, we've had a look at the Gordon's van, it's lovely a wellhouse terrier I think. By the way what has happen...

Re: Calling all ex bongo owners

Hi Thanks for all the replies. Unfortunately hubby is dead set against a caravan (possibly down to traumatic caravan holidays when he was young). I've done my best to convince him but he's not budging Don't think we'd go down the full motorhome route but are considering Transit, Vivaro size conversi...

Calling all ex bongo owners

Hi Just got back from two weeks in France in a tent as too chicken to take the Freda. Not because it's ever let us down, just because we were worried if something did happen to it trying to get it sorted over there could be challenging. Anyway, the kids are growing (8 and 9 now) and the Freda feels ...

Re: Bongo with 5 yr and 2 yr old boys

Hi We've had our AFT van (unconverted) for over four years, our two were 3 and 5 when we bought it and it's been fab. If we were to ever consider a conversion (and we probably won't bother) it would be a rear conversion so we could still have a full width bed. There have been occasions when it's too...

Re: Coolant Issue

Hi I'm sorry you've possibly not received the best service from the garage, we've always had fab service from them and I trust them with my Freda. When you checked the level, was the engine warm by any chance? When hot the coolant expands and therefore appears higher than normal in the header tank. ...

Re: Suggestions for garages in Scotland

Hi We bought our Freda from them and use them for all servicing work etc. They know what they are doing when it comes to Bongos, only downside is they're not particularly cheap, but they also won't suggest you need stuff done that's unnecessary. Think there's also somewhere called Calder leisure but...

Re: New to all things Bongo

Hi We're a family of four and have had our van for four years. Ours is unconverted which allows us to make up a massive (if slightly bumpy) bed downstairs which we can all fit in if it's too cold or windy to sleep in the roof. We take a tent if we're staying somewhere for more than a couple of night...
