Slight hiss/whistle burning oil smell passenger side.

Hi all. Just taken the van out for a quick run and noticed a slight hissing noise when under strain (accelerating, driving up hill). It's very faint, quite hard to hear but definitely new. When I got home I checked coolant (perfect) but did notice hot oily smell beside passenger side door. Like hot ...

Re: bongo despair :-(

Hi Sorry to hear of your problems, can't help with the Techie stuff, but if you're already £4500 in, spending another £1500 and getting a van with a sound cooling system is probably worth it. With regards to sleeping downstairs, as the guys have said above, all seats fold flat to make a massive (if ...

Re: VW at Scottish motorhome exhibition

Well we had a good nosy, still really like the Wildax Solaris sadly don't have £48,000 to spare at the moment.

Bonus, we bumped into Mulshy and co.

Re: VW at Scottish motorhome exhibition

We're off there tomorrow.

I'm really interested in the Wildax stand. If I won the lottery I'd buy a wildax solaris. Till then I suspect it'll be just a fantasy.

Re: Glencoe mountain resort

Hi Gordon.

I saw the St Andrews meet but unfortunately we won't make that one. Another time hopefully, I'd like to nosy round some bigger vans.

Have a good one.

Glencoe mountain resort

Hi Glencoe mountain's facebook page states you can camp for free over the winter. I messaged them to check about campervans and the reply was £15 per night for hook up and water. When I explained we're unconverted so can't use hook up, they said I could park in the car park for free. Preferably the ...

Re: roof light flashing when closed, where's the microswitch

Ha ha, roof's been up and down more times than a yo yo (polite version). Will find and fiddle with the microswitches at the weekend Slightly worried as we had to put roof down when camping beginning of week because it was so windy However it doesn't look twisted at all and does seem to be fully down...

Re: roof light flashing when closed, where's the microswitch

Going back our with the stepladder at the weekend.

roof light flashing when closed, where's the microswitch?

Hi Had a nice trip to Glencoe at the weekend (chilly but fun). However since then the red roof light on the dash has been flashing. Pretty confident the roof is fully closed and nothing blocking it. I've searched the forum and can see I might need to fiddle with the microswitches or even just squirt...

Re: Driving Young Alfie

Hi We had to wrap our belts round the bar under the seat to avoid buckle crunch. Our two are in stage 3 seats now. There are some seats that fit without wrapping for younger children, (Britax or Kiddy Guardian Pro range I Think). I believe some of the newer bongos do have isofix (think there's been ...

glamping

Hi We're being unfaithful to the Freda (who is currently in the garage, waiting to be picked up after passing her MOT) and glamping at Comrie Croft, crieff, Scotland). In a Kata (wigwam type Tent) with a wood burning stove. It's chilly outside but we're all toasty. Nice change from being cramped in ...

Re: check esp - Renault not the Freda

Don't think we have one Gordon.

Think it'll be a new sensor as you suggested earlier, will have to wait until next year though.

Hope you had a fab Xmas.

Re: check esp - Renault not the Freda

Thanks for all the replies.

Tyres are all same size and fault code is reading a steering wheel sensor fault.

Think it will have to be an auto electrician. I was just wondering if the wheels were mis-aligned if that could affect the steering wheel sensor.

check esp - Renault not the Freda

Hi Not a bongo query but I'm hoping some of you techies might have a suggestion. Our boring car is a Renault meganne sport tourer, 10 reg 1.4 diesel. We had a new passenger side rear tyre on in November and since then the check esp and spanner light has been coming on intermittently. It seems to com...

Re: Your favourite road to Bongo.

The road through Glencoe, closely followed by the road down to Glen Brittle on Skye. Oh and the road past Loch Maree, the road back from Big Sands campsite at Gairloch, the road out of Ullapool (going North) in fact pretty much any road in the north west of Scotland. The favourite road that I've nev...
