Re: Diagnostics.

Post a picture of the cable but generally for an OBD2 cable, they just plug into a laptop and you have a piece of software that then reads codes. Unfortunately as far as I know all the bongos (I might be wrong for the very late ones) weren't OBD2 compliant, so you can't use such cables. They instead...

Re: Front seat drivers side bolt

If it is the one I mentioned then one tip for replacing is to use a sash clamp to line the holes up. I spent half an hour the first time trying to get that bolt in as my seat springs out slightly when the bolt is removed. The sash clamp allows you to line it up perfectly. Once I did that, it bolted ...

Re: Front seat drivers side bolt

Have a search for "57-05X mazda"

I believe that is the part you require. If you can't find it, pop into a Mazda dealer and they should be able to order it for you.

MOT retest passed

All jobs done, well all jobs for the MOT. It s slightly more than I expected but it got there. New LED fog light bulb New Wiper blades all round New rear pads (and did the discs whilst I was there) New wishbone. A few more cosmetic jobs to do over the next couple of months of we get the weather. And...

Re: What is this little bit?

If it is the one I'm thinking of it is like a blade of metal attached by a string.

If it is that, it drops into the rail to stop you sliding the seats too far back and putting them through the rear window.

Re: Rear brake discs

Ours is auto too, but we often park on a steep hill so we do use it. It does seem to hold the car well, so hopefully it will pass ok. I've done all the other MOT jobs, so will get it back for the retest and see what happens. Then onto round 2 - A few cosmetic blemishes to remedy. Not really the weat...

Re: Rear brake discs

Just hoping I've done ok with adjusting the brakes. I rotated the adjuster down until the wheel would no longer turn then backed out out. Handbrake in the correct position but it felt like there was a tiny amount of resistance when rolling. If I back then if another click then the handbrake goes up ...

Rear brake discs

Rear brake discs done today not too bad a job. I couldn't see a great deal of detail on doing the discs (loads about the pads) so a few quick points to note... Need the entire rear jacked up so that both wheels can spin. Put it in N and chick the front wheels. 14mm socket or spanner required for the...

Re: Rear reversing bulb type

IMG_20211201_234330~2_copy_448x228.jpg All working now, happy with the result although it was more of a pain than I'd have liked. Very bright now, the photo doesn't really do it justice. But you can probably tell that it is a good bit brighter than the tail lights. Very red now too :D I was always ...

Re: MOT jobs :(

Ball joint splitter in from the side, a couple of whacks with the hammer, job done. It still didn't drop out even at that once it was half way down the splitter wouldn't do anything else but a few whacks to the wishbone got it moving. I expected the inside of the hole to be all rusty but it was nice...

Re: Wishbone ball joint nut

I found them online at an extortionate amount but at least it gets me sorted. Just waiting for it to arrive now.

Measuring the thread it looks to be an M18. Well the thread diameter measured at 18mm with the calipers.

Re: Rear reversing bulb type

you should not have any problems getting these bulbs they are widely available. https://www.autolinkmx5.com/bulb-12v-21w-red-capless-for-rear-fog-light-382c-ba15s-7330-p.asp Unfortunately they aren't really good enough as the light from them comes out pink through the clear lens. It passed for a fe...

Re: MOT jobs :(

A good crack with a stout hammer on the swivel where the ball joint goes through should make it drop out. Should been the operative word. I had this issue last time. I'm giving it as good a blow as I can although swing is limited given the space. . I've tried your suggestions from last time too (sc...

Re: MOT jobs :(

Haha, I had been through that. It is half the reason I post on here. It keeps a record of what I did and when and sometimes reminds me what to do 😂 It's up in the air and the wheel is off. The bolt and nut are undone and removed. The castellated nut is undone. The new wishbone is in the post due in ...
