Re: Camshaft sprocket removal

Hi, We are trying to remove the camshaft sprocket on a 1996 2.5 diesel as changing the head after overheating. We have a 17mm breaker bar on the nut, and a 26mm spanner on the camshaft flats. But we cannot get the nut off. We are assuming it's a normal thread and not reversed? What are we missing? ...

Re: Can you retro fit tailgate handle

Owing to the fact that the interior door handle mechanism is an optional extra it would be advisable to check the locking mechanism and make sure it has provisions to accept release rod..good luck.

Re: Blown radiator(?) far from home - v6 stuck in switz

Hi folks, Well we tried to dispel the ghosts of our last European misadventure two years ago (unbelievably frustrating hall sensor issue) but unfortunately have ended up on the side of the road yet again. Good news is the issue appears to be (hopefully) more straightforward and radiator related. Ba...

Re: Help - How much are we looking to pay for these fixes.....

The problem with a pre Ministery of transport test (mott), if it fails you can still be prosecuted for driving a vehicle in an unroadworthy condition (it will be logged) and you have missed the chance (if it passed) a fresh MOT certificate. Its really up to the owner but I know what I would do. tak...

Re: Help - How much are we looking to pay for these fixes.....

PS you could even take the vehicle for a fresh MOTT for peace of mind, good luck. Good idea but if there is still a fair bit left on the MOT I would put it in for a pre MOT check at a testing station, dont put it in for an actual MOT as if it fails it would make the current MOT invalid. The problem...

Re: Help - How much are we looking to pay for these fixes.....

This is a typical AA inspection report, it is not as bad as it looks the AA always cover themselves for comebacks. Personally, I would have wee word with the potential buyer and work out a deal, or simply find another buyer. This also depends on the details and asking price you want for the vehicle....

Re: How to communicate mileage when selling?

In the millage section just put NaN , owing to the fact (as someone said) these are grey imported vehicles and the millage /KM (distance the vehicle has travelled) cannot be guaranteed.

Re: Ongoing V6 gearbox issue

Hi Colin, I don't know Royston's , but the easy answer is take it back to Roystons ,if they have undertaken the work in the first instance, I would imagine it's up to them to finish the job.
