Re: another looming head job - Canada

Glad your half way their Dave, ref the stat, most of us here in the Uk have come to the conclusion that the genuine Mazda one is worth the extra £10 as it seems to work more efficiently over a longer period than the cheaper copies so food for thought. Also the lower temp stat for the fans is worth r...

Re: Header Tanks

Well thats one of many pit falls that could scupper the whole thing and cause alot of aggro for the "organizer" thats why I dont think the group buys would work if buying out of the uk in other "cheaper" markets too many things could go wrong. Ive bought loads of stuff from Japan...

Re: coolant alarm.,bingo 2nd time

Hmmn, maybe when you checked it before setting off you didnt screw it back on properly??, but I would check all the hoses for a leak anyhow and check the rad for leaks especially around the top of the rad where the plastic seal against the metal and wrap some bog paper around the header tank cap and...

Re: Header Tanks

All the points mentioned here by forum members are what I said in the initial thread to start with, for 1 person to take the reigns and go ahead using his own £, then he will want to make a profit, for it to be a bulk buy for forum users someone will have to get all the costs together ... how may pe...

Re: another looming head job - Canada

Hi Dave, sorry to here about your bongo but at least you know your stuff so are saving a few £ on labour charges. Be wary of the complete heads offered on ebay here in the UK, they are cheap Chinese aftermarket copies and are not very reliable, as the castings arnt up to scratch, ive heard some have...

Re: Bleeding Bongo's

If you do do it yourself, and are confident, change the stat for the genuine mazda stat, and all you have to do is when bleeding get the stat to open. simples you always here the horror stories mainly because of air locks or people not realizing theres a bleed hose under the passenger seat.

Re: Looking for a recommend garage in Leeds

If its just oil and filters any garage will do (providing they are competent  ). doesnt need to be a bongo friendly garage. But I had my stainless exhaust done by Tony Banks, who have done a few bongos I know of, and one of them had a service done by them and said it was running better than eve...

Mine sits around the same mark also (1 o clock mark) but whilst driving up hill's or with a bit of load, but can see it drop to the 12 oclock mark when the stat open's or the (fans kick in) whilst normal driving or stationary, and then see it rise hard to the 2 o clock mark on the motorway pushing i...
