Re: Frankenstein engine thoughts.....
Freer flowing air intake and exhaust always helps any engine. A petrol engine needs its fuelling with defined margins, further modifications would require remapping (as opposed to tweaking the rather archaic but purposeful diesel pump) The was a 206bhp 3.0 DOHC version of the petrol engine only avai...

Re: Frankenstein engine thoughts.....
There is a 3-litre V6 version the Aussies like tuning up! Read an article about someone fitting twin turbos to the 3-litre and put it into a retro "ute"

Frankenstein engine thoughts.....
Just some rambling thoughts.... It is my understanding (bit it would need to be verified for definite) that the later diesel direct injection Ford Ranger engines use the same engine blocks as the earlier Bongo/Ranger engines. Which would mean it would bolt into a Bongo but the heads are much bigger ...

Re: 4x4 alloys and diff winding
I have fitted 17" wheels with a slightly larger rolling radius tyres and it is the best modification I have made, the gearing is raised for better more relaxed cruising and there is less body roll.

Re: Wheels
My Speedo is now 100% correct and that is with a Mazda 626 Speedo fitted. My tyres are Michelins £108 off eBay part worn but nearly new ;D All the tyres were worn on my 15" alloys and I sold my old wheels for a fiver more than I bought my bargain new wheels. When I picked my new wheels (badly n...

Re: Wheels
My 17" wheels are, probably the best modification I have ever done on my diesel Bongo, with fairly high profile tyres 225/55/17 iirc it has raised the gearing for more relaxed cruising and better economy

Re: Wheels
PLEASE NOTE: When fitting alloy wheels to a vehicle it is important to ensure the right wheel nuts are fitted, I used to have wheel nuts for steel wheels on my old alloys and uses to get vibration through the steering sometimes, when fitting my new wheels I had the right nuts with the proper taper f...

Re: Relay wanted/offered
The vendor lives just off junction 21 of the M1. I sent the vendor a message the other day asking if I could pay Friday but no reply yet, auction finishes in 5 hours.
If j21 isn't too far from you, if you could "lick" it up that would be great!
Thanks, Russ
