I think Chrissy and David are going to book just shortly - the first weekend in September unless there's a scream and shout otherwise...

PS. Had the Bongo on Skye last weekend hillwalking - magic!

Re: September meet

Assuming a September meet and a 3 day weekend, and as I can't do the second last weekend, candidate weekends for a meet might be: 2-4th (my preference) 9-11th Any advance on either of those? A quick google for wild camping in the Cairngorms threw up the links below, amongst others. Perhaps we might ...

September meet

Hi, folks.

Who fancies a meet in September? I was thinking somewhere in/around the Cairngorms. Personally, I don't mind wild camping but perhaps that doesn't work so well with a number of vans.

Any experience of the campsites around there?

Re: So who is booked for the Scottish Bash?

Hannah - you did so well! I'll fetch you a length of chain as a souvenir, next time I'm down passing Elie! =D> =D> Yes, we cut it fine with the daylight and we did it in the wet, but it was a cracking walk, a great group and what a day to remember! Many thanks and much respect to all involved...

Re: help sat in layby

Perhaps a solution to this worrying symptom might be a coolant sensor that detects the decaying current through the coolant tank probes over time, and warns you if it thinks that it's likely that since you last hit the "flush" button, your probes have developed have a build up of residue. ...

Re: help sat in layby

I'm not sure what kind of alarm you've got, and I have to assume that you can see the water level through your header tank (as you won't have opened it while hot!). Depending on the presence or absence of any temp guage mod/Mason, you may not see any movement from the temp gauge. As I understand, yo...

I believe it's full, though he/she's away to get a new starter so I can't pop out and check - from memory, I can just see the liquid topping out above the bottom of the filter.

Yes. The whole thing was cold (other than a few minutes idling in order to get the roof down).

Re: Heavy steering when pulling away (HARD)!

I recall reading of one (or was it two) power steering failures on here that sounded 'interesting' from the drivers point of view. I should have looked harder - http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=17976 While fluid and possibly belt change may be advised, it seems that th...

Heavy steering when pulling away (HARD)!

I pulled out of a parking space up Glencoe, and wellied it across the road to slot into traffic. I was turning the steering wheel pretty hard at the time and really booted it, and it felt as if for a brief second the steering went really heavy, almost as if it stuck. I remember this because I cr@ppe...
