Checked all the terminals, waxoyl free, only 11.8v output from alternator :( Went down to Weymouths alternator/starter motor refurb meister, Chris Putt who confirmed it was goosed, but a sheer coincidence that it had gone after waxoyling. Luckily he's got a refurb in stock for £147, will pop down to...

charge & sediment light after waxoyling
Surely this can't be a coincidence, waxoyled bongo's bottom today, then when I drove up to my mates for dinner ( too pooped to cook), charge & sediment lights stayed on  Just done a search on the forum & checked the fact sheet - everything points toward alternator :( Measured across b...

removing front bumper
Done a search, nothing came up ( yes I used AND), wondered if anyone has removed their front bumper, if so how difficult. I've noticed some surface rust starting on the metalwork around the radiators & behind the grilles & want to get in & sort it out while I'm messing about with rust co...

replacing front air vent
Got to replace the adjustable air vent thing in themiddle of the dash - right hand one of the 2. the old one came out with a bit of persuasion from the front ( had already been bent & squeezed, hence replacement), but now I've got the new one & looking at the hole it's gotta go in, it looks ...

Drainage gulley clear, no signs of water ingress around the resistor pack - unfortunately being the climate control version (not so smug now  ), no simple resoldering of resistors. no apparent damage/burn out to transistor. will check fan across 12v in the morning, but seems to spin ok. Found ...

Repaired drivers window switch
Having had a fruitless search for a replacement drivers window switch that doesn't cost the earth, I decided to attempt a repair on mine. As I mentioned before, I got the passenger side on /off switch working by giving the contacts a good scrape, but the rocker switch for the drivers side had come o...

Electronic/galvanic/electron-generating rust protection
Ihave just obtained a "Quorum MV-42 electronic rust guard", it consists of 2 anode modules stuck to the inside of the engine bay that draw 42mv & create free electrons which apparantly "form an invisible layer of protection that electronically retards the rusting process". I ...
