Re: Overheating /Over Pressurised 1996, 2.5TD Bongo
From what I can tell you only have a couple of options and I think they've all been covered above. If you've got too much pressure, then you are either pressurising from exhaust/combustion gases entering the coolant. A sniffer test would prove this. Or you have a faulty coolant reservoir cap. The ca...

Re: Starting issues...Glow plug relay?
The only thing that doesn't make sense compared to my findings with the bongo was on your first post you said that you put a battery in and heated the glow plugs, then started it, left them on for 30 seconds then removed the power to the plugs and it struggled?? From what I've tested, the glow plugs...

Re: Wheel hubs and bearings need fixing
Ian Taylor, on the edge of Longton may be able to help you out. He used to sell hundreds of bongos and repair and service them. He used to have a yard full of donor bongos to get parts from. However last time I went down there it was all cleaned up. No bongos in pieces in sight! He might have a coll...

Re: Waeco PerfectPower PP1002 Inverter
Voltage wise, It isn't an easy answer, as it varies for an optimal charge. There are (IIRC) 3 different charging stages, the voltage alters for each of these stages. Regular lead acids charge at around 13.8-14.4V Depending on the stage AGM require 14.6-14.8V I believe that battery temperature also p...

Re: Waeco PerfectPower PP1002 Inverter
I've got to admit to being guilty of that with AGM batteries. I thought because they were supposedly better and better technology that they would make a good replacement for the bongo leisure battery. Fortunately for me when I bought the last one the deal on a non AGM one was too good, so I stuck wi...

Re: Waeco PerfectPower PP1002 Inverter
One think to be aware of is (and I only found this out recently) that AGM batteries charge at a different voltage to regular lead acid batteries. Your CTEK optimiser should charge AGM batteries correctly but the alternator / split charge system won't be charging at the correct voltage. Apparently AG...

Re: Roof Bolts for roof bars
Not sure if this is helpful or not but no picture shows for me either. Also the picture in Geoff's signature doesn't show any more either. (Hasn't done for a while) I wonder if it's getting blocked by certain ISPs for some reason? Randomly though, if I right click on the missing image placeholder an...

Re: Diesel filter problems
I'd second the banjo filter. Mine blocked up after changing the fuel filter so it was restricting the flow.
Easy to remove to check, this was mine. I'd had no problems before changing the filter so it must have disturbed bits...

Re: Revving in Park
I'll have a proper look at the weekend, unfortunately it is dark when I'm driving it in the morning and dark when I'm driving back in the evening.
It does sound a good shout though, I'll check it out and update.
Thanks

Re: Revving in Park
Hmmmm, it did it again this morning but not tonight. This morning as I got to my destination it seemed to be very eager to go. Putting it into park again raised the revs to around 1800 rpm. Putting it into drive dropped them down again but letting the brake off, it really wanted to go so I presume i...

Re: Lost keys
Thanks for the reply, Yes, I sorted it. I got my plan together of how I was going to get the number, but luckily I never got that far as when the kids went back to school after the Christmas holidays, my son found the keys in one of his school shoes 🙄 How they ended up there, I have no idea. Hours a...

Re: Revving in Park
Randomly it hasn't done it again since It is the 2.5 diesel 4x4. The revs do seem slightly higher at idle than I remembered, but around 900rpm now. The other day moving it into park made the revs go up, then they would drop back when it was in park. You could repeat it, today nothing happens to the ...
