Rust, the on going saga....
we all have it and what happens ultimately is up to you the owner. So here are a few snapshots of rust.. 1) A spot on the sill, don't leave it treat it ! Do it as soon as you see it rather than wait, the golden rule. Small spots creep fast. 2) Rear arches still solid and treated. They are not beauti...

Re: Safe blue Campingaz gas temps ?
I think I found something... it always helps to search Campingaz rather than calor gas ! I am guessing it could be 60C in a Bongo "greenhouse" if 40C outside. I may vent it off a bit later today... phew it is a roaster here ! https://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/chatter/display_topic_threads.asp?F...

Re: MOT Friday
Due to the high ride you can get to a surprising amount without ramps if physically flexible. Worth a look even if not going the whole hog on ramps.
Under the front for example, crossmember a few flat panels etc.

Re: Engine temperature readings
It is likely to go down a bit downhill... a bit, maybe 5C ona 1-2miles downhill... but not excessively.. Afterall the engine must of got hot going up and then you are barely using any diesel or revs going down... but are getting radiator wind rush cooling the circulating water.

In short... Winter 89C and summer 93C averages. Can hit 97c - 100C for a very short time on a long climb

Heads up on a new Bongo rust weak spot !
I was POR15 ing the ends of the front cross member after a wire brush down and spotted some rust on a flat panel directly underneath the windscreen washer bottle. I had recently changed the motor in the washer bottle 3 months back. I saw that the hole where the moulded plastic nodule (or knob) on th...

Re: Slight groaning sound driver side front, last 3m under braking ?
Ha well the groan has turned into a more slight creeking and scuffing sound on the last few meters of braking but sadly it is still there despite a greasing of some moving parts. I think some of the gubblings to use the techy term surrounding suspension, steering and breaking was dampened down a bit...

Clean inside lip rear arches, it is a good time to....
I just checked my rear arches and took about 300grams of mud out of each side. Just a reminder it is worth putting a thick leather glove on and clearing behind those arches (a blunt food eating knife does it well also with some gentle dragging) which as we all know have a tendency to rot through eve...
