Re: DAB radio aerials

Hello. Not sure who advised you that the stick on windscreen aerials aren't that good - but on the basis I drive quite a few miles around the country and haven't had DAB drop off of reception (except in deepest North Wales) I wouldn't agree. Much, much better than the factory fitted aerial in my comp...

Re: To Bongo or not to bongo

Obvious, but it is dependent on the vehicle you buy. I have a 2002 2L petrol which I do have serviced once a year by a Bongo specialist. Apart from checking the tyres, water and oil I haven't had to do anything else (never had to top up water or oil either). I did get a low coolant alarm fitted when...

Re: DAB radio aerials

I have had a new DAB radio/CD/DVD player fitted. The DAB aerial was fitted on the windscreen, passenger side. Works very well and much better than the reception in my company car.

Re: Pop top roof for a tin top

I should have mentioned it at the time - Skyline Roofs also fitted a 140 watt solar panel to keep my leisure battery topped up. Off to France in the summer - can't wait.

Re: Pop top roof for a tin top

One which seems to be rather popular is the Skyline Roof and with hindsight... Google them. Found their website but looked as they only do them for the T5? :( http://www.skylineroofs.co.uk/index.htm[/quote] After a long time looking at various options I contacted Skyline roofs to see who they would ...

Re: Another newbie..

As my Bongo is my second car it is used for holidays and festivals. I try to limit usage in the winter to protect from the effects of salted roads. When I retire and lose my company car I will use it daily (looking forward to it!) I get 27 mpg from my 2.0L petrol , so not too bad.

Re: Newbie

Welcome on board. You have made a good first move by purchasing from Ian Taylor. He has looked after Bunty for the last two and a half years (annual servicing and MOT, coolant change, cam belt change etc.) and I have had no issues so far. Good luck :D

Re: Pop top roof for a tin top

Good points about windows and ventilation. I have been quoted for a pop top for my tin top bongo by G&P campervan conversions in Staffordshire. Has anybody on her used them? Any comments? please PM me if you prefer. They would be very convenient for ma as they are just down the road and seem a p...

Re: Who's planning what?

Thanks for the advice (as always). I already have European breakdown cover (through my Nationwide current account). I don't work for Nationwide but I get 3% interest on my account, free travel insurance and free breakdown cover in the UK and Europe , all for £10 per month. I am not sure where we wil...

Re: Who's planning what?

Two weeks in the west of France for us (and eldest son). First time abroad in Bunty so really looking forward to it. I am sure I will have a few questions to ask before we go. One springs to mind straight away - what do I have to do regarding car insurance? I have taken vehicles abroad many time bef...

Re: Facebook

I have only recently joined Face Book - mainly to keep in touch with children who have now left home - and a couple of clubs I am involved in. Before that I spent a few years on BF asking lots of questions, which produced answers, that persuaded me to take the plunge and buy a Bongo. Without BF I pr...

I have always fancied a built in, under (middle seat) draw. Can anybody advise who can make and fit one of these?

I finally got the new thermostat fitted and the temperature gauge now works along with the heater (which I didn't realise wasn't working until it got cold)

Re: Campervan Tickets at Reading Festival

The demand for camper van passes increases each year at festivals as people get fed up with tents and want to sleep in comfort. Every year the camper van area gets larger and the ticket prices increase. The campervan tickets normally sell out first. I haven't been to Reading for a long time either b...
