Not a recommendation .. But my gasket was more like a rubbery type .. it came away from the gearbox very cleanly .. so I put the slightest smear of silicone gasket goo on it and used it again ..

As some Bongo do not have an auto box sump drain plugs .. some do pump the Dexron3 fluid out with a lecky pump or the excellent Pela type .. They have discs / pads all round, BUT the back discs have drums built in .. fitted with shoes for the handbrake .. People take there motors in for a 'full service' .. how many garages change the diff oils / brake fluid / transmission fluids etc: as a matter of routine .. maybe prudent of the custome...

I have a dislike / distrust of garages .. BUT .. I have to say in this case I am on the side of the garage .. Unless you had specifically asked for a price for all four wheel discs / pads and maybe rear hand brake shoes as well .. Price alone should have given you some idea of how much they where do...

When .. inspecting .. a point to bare in mind is is not the parts you can see .. but the parts you can't .. most destructive rust comes from inside inner panels .. cills .. chassis .. doors .. suspension .. radiator ...supports etc: I did my own .. I did not pressure wash mine but steam cleaned it ....

A similar scenario to a new fit on my Toyota Estima many years ago ..

Apparently the LPG 'gauges' float also acts as a gas cut off valve .. the float's rod at got twisted out of place when being fitted into the tank ..

One report said the Bongo was valued at £18,500 ..!!
