Actually reading another source if you undo inspection plate at top of bell housing there is a marker for setting cam timing. The injection pump runs in other direction to crank so could make the difference fingers crossed

Have you checked cam timing it seems you use the first mark on crank pulley then other pulley marks lining up with their respective marks

I think you have to get back on track and build on certainty. get timing spot on so that option can be ticked off then valve clearances and so on then the answer will reveal itself. The pump has been checked out and is ok the mechanicals are ok so it’s got to come down to fuel/air. I had a Renault 1...

I think it’s timed at 10 degrees b4 tdc and 1 mm on the dial gauge double check info tho

Did you check turbo side of things vacuum lines and boost valves if they use them I’m not totally sure

Never noticed them, just a thought it might be worth blanking of egr just to see if it makes any difference also if wastegate is moving freely just in case it’s stuck open

Done away with rear heater anyway can’t see the point for it I’m turning the new void into a storage area 👍 will be re doing auto pipes just got to check if pressure is the same and it’s a new rad 😎

A few people I knew a while ago were running on old cooking oil because they could get hold of it for nothing I always found it really weird that this ex chip and burger oil would make a car run
