Re: V6 Engine won't turn over
I was wondering if there was a way I could kind of 'jump start' the starter motor? So if I make up a new wire and attach it to the little tab on the solenoid and spark it with 12V do you think that should operate the starter if the ignition is on? The starter should operate & turn the engine ov...

Re: V6 Engine won't turn over
Does the engine start if you give the solenoid 12v when the ignition is switched on? Are you getting 12v to the solenoid when you try to start the engine?

Re: Engine Cranking but not starting. Video
Are you getting 12v to the stop solenoid on the pump? Can you hear/feel the solenoid open? Yes id doesent sound like its turning over that fast, I'm assuming the battery is weak from repeated starting attempts? Does your fuel filter housing have a hand primer on it? i believe some do? if so try pump...

The gasket on the right looks like either the EGR pipe gasket or the seal for the little oil filler cap housing.

Re: Diesel heaters
The Chinese ones generally come with everything you need to install them, wiring, pipework, controller, ducts, outlets, exhaust & silencer etc. Just be aware of getting an ebay bargain on a genuine Eberspacher or Webasto that has previously been fitted to another vehicle, often they are just cho...

Yes the original keys have the number stamped on them too just where the blade meets the plastic bit. Definitely keep a note of this.

Re: Lost keys
Did you get this sorted?
The key number is stamped on the front locks (have never checked the other locks) & is a 5 digit number between 10100-12283
I have covered the full number as this is my lock (after some scumbag taken a screwdriver to it)

Looks like the inner CV gaiter may be split too, looks like signs of CV grease on it.

I would think nowadays every bin lorry would have 360 degree CCTV & GPS tracking, If you think it was the bin lorry contact the council with the date & time, Say you believe it was the bin lorry & im sure they will check.

Re: Vsr wiring with overide.
In my experience AGM & EFB batteries don't have anywhere near the same lifespan as regular flooded batteries, even when fitted in a car that's designed to have one fitted. I don't rate them at all & would never fit one to a car that isn't required to have one.

Re: Raising the van
I had clearance issues with mines when I got it, the undertray used to ground out on normal speed bumps all the time. It wasnt till i was parked next to another one in a car park one day i realised someone had actually lowered it  I bought a full set of used shocks & springs off ebay &...

Re: Speedometer stops working intermittently
Do you know if you have a speedo chip fitted to convert the original KPH clocks to read in MPH? The chip went faulty on mines causing intermittent speedo issues, it would just stop while driving the randomly start working again, i removed the chip & fitted an overlay. Never had any problems with...

I'd be looking to confirm if there is a spark & injector switching when the fault occurs.
Im not familiar with the 2.0 Bongo at all but does it have a separate crank sensor or just the pickup in the distributor?

Re: What other cars/vans require manual bleeding?
A fair amount of cars need manual bleeding, not usually as much as a faf as the bongo to be fair. Peugeot/Citroen vehicles need a header tank fitted to raise the height of the coolant & valves opened to purge the air out. Many vehicles now also need diagnostics to bleed the cooling system too.
