Re: V6 Petrol : Noise from belt/pulleys

Im not familiar with the V6 but is it a solid pulley or dual mass/dampened pulley?
It would be an unusual thing to have to replace if its a solid pulley but not if its a dampened type, these wear over time & the 2 half's can start to separate.

Re: Diesel Heater

That would be great if you could measure it. I would have thought 8-5-8 would have been massive.
I will take it off your hands no problem.

Re: Stop table sliding along rail

I know the problem & feel your pain after having a couple of bowls of rice krispies spilled over me. What I did was use a split piece of rubber hose wrapped round the rail & clamped with a jubilee clip. Doesn't look great but does the job perfect & can be easily removed again leaving no ...

Re: Diesel Heater

I used a t-piece to pick up fuel under drivers seat (there is some talk that this could dry up the seal on the actual fuel pump i think so standpipe could be better into tank but I didn’t have any issues) Do you happen to have a note of the size of the T-piece for the fuel pickup. I bought a Chines...

Re: Lucky Coin

I was chasing an intermittent rattle/vibration from the front right dashboard area for months when I first got the Bongo. Sometimes it would disappear for weeks & I would think its gone then it would appear again. By chance one morning when I was scraping ice off the windscreen I caught a glimps...

Re: What is this behind front bumper... see the photo.

Hmmm, to be fair i though the Bongo might be a bit old to have something like this but it certainly looks like a secondary air pump. If that's ruled out then I reckon its some sort of additional horn/siren as said above. Does any wiring tap into the horn wiring just above it? You could power it up &...

Re: What is this behind front bumper... see the photo.

Is this a petrol model? Is there any pipework on it?
It looks a bit like an air pump you would find on petrol cars with a catalyst, its used for making the cat heat up faster to operating temperature.

For balancing cost v quality i would say Sealey all day long. I have easily over £1500 of Sealey stuff thats all had plenty of use, apart from a couple of beaker bar knuckles breaking (with the help of a bit of scaffolding pole 🤫) i cant think ive had anything fail unless it has not been used as int...

Mine had holes here 8FD39E39-E0AA-4534-9E12-E8DA61F6F4D6.jpeg You could put your finger through to the passenger footwell carpet, sold it but had a plate welded over it as far as I know Yes, thats the bits, my fingers will go through them if i push on them. In 20+ years in the motor repair trade i ...

Re: V6 cranking but not starting - run out of ideas!

Can you see any of the camshafts through the oil filler cap hole on this engine to confirm that they are not turning? Just because the rotor arm isn't turning doesn't definitely mean the timing belt has broken. As said above there is always the possibility that the drive dog on the distributor has s...

Re: Bongo Breakdown (Paris)

OK I would have called that a swirl flap actuator. I dont know if this one defaults to a normally open or normally closed state but you could try disconnecting & blanking the vacuum pipe then physically jamming it either fully open or closed (depending on which way around it operates). Secure th...

Re: V6 cranking but not starting - run out of ideas!

Yes go to the start and then scroll right, the entire manual is in there. The X-nn connectors are all at the rear of the manual before the index. OK so X-35 is a 12 way connector? And the wires from the crank sensor are blue & Green? I still can work out how you know which terminals the crank s...
