Re: V6 cranking but not starting - run out of ideas!
Is there a component key anywhere for the diagrams? You can work most of them out by the symbols & number of wires but there are still a few that can be confusing. Also on the components & multi 'X' connectors is there any way to know the pin numbers they connect to? For example the 2 wires ...

Re: V6 cranking but not starting - run out of ideas!
I'll have a look at a wiring diagram later to look at this specific system. In the meantime have you checked for an injector pulse signal? If you have an injector pulse this should confirm that the ECU is seeing the crank sensor signal. If you don't have a noid light to check this you can use an LED...

Re: V6 cranking but not starting - run out of ideas!
I figured the next step was to check earth continuity to the sensor, so I backprobed the 2 wires leading to the sensor (one at a time - I did not know which was earth) and created a local earthing point. But still it won't start. I Have never worked on this engine but what do you mean by sensor ear...

Front inner arches
There's plenty on here about the rear arches but has anyone had to sort the front inner arches? mines are a bit 'soft', just wondering if repair panels are available or is it a case of just fabricating something? Also is there meant to be a plastic liner on the rearmost part of the inner arch (above...

Re: Exhaust, cheap rubbish :(
Both pieces were klarius before from eurocarparts. I'm trying to avoid buying the same again but they are handy for quick parts. The majority of stuff from ECP is total cheap junk, Had to stop using them years ago, The only time I would use them now is if it was Sunday & I was desperate, Even t...

Re: Replacement ignition key
Dont know if all Bongos use the same key blanks but the Blanks for my 95 are for reference. Silca Blanks = MAZ20REP or MAZ13T5 JMA Blanks = MAZ13DP1 (This one looks closest to my original) The original Mazda key has a 5 digit number between 10100 & 12283 stamped on it that can enable a locksmith...

Re: Anxiety over changing the cam belt - 2.5 diesel.
I would never normally bother taking glow or spark plugs out when changing a timing belt unless I was replacing them anyway, I didn't bother on the Bongo. It's actually a very easy belt to change, just access that's a pain, a small mirror will help loads when lining up the timing marks, because your...

Re: Swivelling Bench Seat from Northstar Conversions
My advice to anyone about the swivel rear seat is if you don't need a forward facing seat for child seats etc just keep the original seat permanently reversed. The seat is good if you need to have if forward facing when moving but the downsides are- You loose a bit of storage space underneath the se...

Re: EGR diaphram stuck
With this type of EGR valve you should be able to free it off, Wynns do an EGR cleaning spray. Its designed to be used in situ but you can remove the valve & use it to clean it. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wynns-Diesel-EGR-Valve-Cleaner-Extreme-Turbo-Professional-Formula-200ml/264394911188?_trkpa...

As A guess without a pic could it be a DAB radio aerial? Many of these are windscreen mounted & some also require a power supply.
Best to try uploading a pic.

I tried it with my Bosch KTS & a Mazda to 16 pin OBD adaptor. It wouldn’t communicate at all either.

I always carry a 1/4" drive socket set, a power probe (wouldn't leave home without it), spare PAL fuses (can be difficult to source), assorted cable ties, a few screwdrivers, breaker bar, gerber multi tool.

It wont fail an MOT for having a blanking plate fitted to the EGR, it should easily pass the smoke test and also how would the tester know the EGR was blanked??
