Re: Schematic Diagrams - Lushprojects

A copy exists here if nowhere else! I keep it on my laptop so that we have it in the van at all times ;-)

Re: White Smoke & Lumpiness On Startup - Glowplugs Fine . .

No idea if they "modulate" the current, I use sparks rather than glowing ;-) But I haven't heard people saying that the relay clicks in/out frequently, it would be a rather poor method to use :-( I thought it just came on for about 20-30 seconds, but I'm sure there is a diesel man out ther...

Re: has my alternator died ?

Its possible that the alternator hasn't failed completely and is putting out a lower than normal voltage, it would probably be best to get the alternator itself checked by an auto electrician, rather than just relying on measuring the voltage across the battery. He should be able to test the alterna...

Re: Flat starter battery... help please from a newbie?

Its best to let it thaw in a normal room temperature (but best not to do it in the house) its possible that in freezing/thawing you may get buckled plates and nasty things my result :-( DON'T charge it when frozen :!: It may not be frozen solid and what's liquid may well start to gas and then you wi...

Re: Flat starter battery... help please from a newbie?

.. just pondering whether the previous flat battery could have damaged the relay in some way so that the leisure battery is discharging the starter battery? No the relay won't be damaged because of a poor S/B. Could the battery have frozen, not sure what part of the country you in its worth stickin...

Re: Flat starter battery... help please from a newbie?

Was the new battery fully charged after it was installed, has it had a few runs since it was put in ? In these temperatures it could be as simple as the new battery not having anywhere near a full charge and then combined with the low temperature it hasn't enough to turn the engine over. If the the ...

Re: White Smoke & Lumpiness On Startup - Glowplugs Fine . .

The glow plugs are either ON or OFF via the relay, there is no reduced power mode on the Bongo that I can see from the diagrams;

The ECU does sense that power has actually been applied to the plugs, but that's all as far as I am aware.

Re: Battery charging with a Willinton Kit

How often is it pulsing and for how long is each pulse ? The relays are good for a LARGE number of operations, but if you don't need to charge the L/B the easiest way to stop it would be to just remove the fuse nearest the S/B going to the Willinton relay.

Re: charge light

Charge and Sediment together mean Alternator problems :-( Given the temperatures your experiencing it might be worth waiting to see what happens when it warms up a bit ?

Re: Fuses than glow when they blow

Be wary, they won't always glow! They will only glow when the circuit is made i.e. when any switches/relays are operated, so if the fuse blew when the switch/relay was turned ON, it might not glow when the switch/relay goes back to OFF......

Re: Help! Electrics up the spout

There not standard as they will have been fitted with the conversion, or when the L/B was installed, they will be AT LEAST 20Amps, but could be larger, depends on the cables they fitted (the fuses protect the cable nothing else), typically they would be 20-40Amps but you need to take them out and se...
