Depending on what wheels you have, I carved a centre cap from hard balsa, sanded, sealed, waxed and moulded, and made fibreglass covers which fitted over the whole centre...

Re: Alloy wheel center caps - pain to find?

They're much larger - covering the wheels nuts as well - more like these, but have to be the right size...

I think it's a case of finding out what other vehicle uses the size I want as standard and replacing the center emblem but I'm stuggling. :?

Alloy wheel center caps - pain to find?

Picked up a right scruffy pair of alloys today - basically just so the van isn't sitting on stands while I get my own wheels refurb'd. (I'd be charged extra to store the van vs just taking the wheels down - and I can scrap the spare wheels afterwards and get most of the cost back). But semi-consider...

I'm going to go for it... booked in for tints next week, body work in July and wheels either before or after that.

Re: Alloy wheels in Silent Silver??

I'm not against any shade - there's some stunning ones done in anthracite or gunmetal grey... It's the "colour match" thing I'm not yet convinced of... with the gray roof, black body, silent silver skirt and random silver alloys, it's a 4-tone monochrome van. The idea is to tie the wheels ...

Re: Alloy wheels in Silent Silver??

Simon - looks good! The silver on your van - that's not the Silent Silver, is it? Yours is paler/brighter, no?

Valeter said if you do nothing else to your van, take a bucket and sponge round the wheels once a week and they'll stay tidy.

"Naff" was the word I had in mind...

He's totally convinced though - he's restoring a pair of Merc 190s just now, generally sound advise but the colour matched wheel thing is confusing me - I think I'm with you, Helen!

Alloy wheels in Silent Silver??

http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee365/Driver_and_Passengers/lochquoich.jpg Getting arches sills and arches resprayed shortly, and windows tinted. A mate is trying to convince me that my alloys need attention (he's not entirely wrong...) but he insists I should get them powder coated and colour ...

Nice one - after taking him to Scout camp for a day visit at the weekend, in the car on the way home, Alex said "I want to do camping stuff with you, Dad." How can I not... ;)

First couple of weeks of the school holidays (4th July)

Hi, Schools here break up on 4th July. The Scottish Bash isn't until the end of the month, but not sure I can make that. With kiddy number three due this month, I'm hoping to take kiddies numbers one and two away in the van somewhere during the first couple of weeks of the holidays. Anything going o...

I will sit down with the boss and work it out. To be honest, I might be pushing it trying to get away just now... :(
