Nothing nasty about R12, its just not environmentally friendly, if you want nasty then some unscrupulous B's recharge aircon systems with propane, it will work just fine but god help you if you were to have a front end crash :shock:

Had mine done yesterday, what a difference! According to my Aircon friend after I told him all the info I got from here he told me, that the 750g +/- 50g figure that Missfixit got from the label on Cabte's dual system, is probably the correct official figure and then with a 'pipework' allowance 950g...

My fan/s cut in at 94 (when it's running right) measuring from top hose outlet, takes it down to around 84-85, but unless the stat is working properly, even if the fans kick in, there won't be enough coolant flowing through it for the fans to do anything. I used Holts 2 part rad flush & as Ady ...

Spookily enough, yesterdat I took the van for its MOT and a little jaunt, the iAlert (sensor in recommended position) was sitting around the 89/91 mark and the modified temp guage was sitting a little bit higher than normal (put this down to weather). I have to fit a 240v flush fitting inlet socket. What is the best method so as not to c**k it right up. I am thinking drill a load of holes and cut between with a junior hacksaw then file smooth. Possibly paint over the bare metal? He asked me if I had found an outlet socket that wasnt the ugly blu...
