Much appreciated, my two at the very rear were absolutely shot after 6,000km since January 2021.
Both were completely perished and had ripped right through at the bottom and were close to doing so at the top also.
Replaced with much more significant generic ones.

Re: Rubber exhaust hangers
Never known those fail. Use my bongo over rough beach roads every year, so regularly check the exhaust. Sure you have not got a pair missing someplace, IE putting extra pressure on your failed pair? or maybe a missing a heatshroud or some alignment problem / sharp edges?. If the old ones are still ...

Previous set were.feom mazdabongo.com which is extra expensive for me now since Brexit as I'm in Ireland. Does anyone have a universal or alternative tha...

Re: Radiator fans not working
Sorry - 2.5TD, I've no idea whether the fans were working previously or if indeed there is any issue.

Re: Radiator fans not working
Sorry to bump a very old thread! I've just had my radiator replaced and van is good to go but the garage (not bongo specialist but getting there!) havent been able to get the radiator fans to operate. He said he had it up to 95C (not sure how he measured it). Is this normal or is something wrong? Fa...

Re: Where to put power management system
Have a look in the passenger footwell, I've my consumer unit down there and it doesn't impact at all on space for the passenger. Easily enough space for the solar controller also

Re: Dual purpose battery
Bit of a gimmick really, you could always put jump leads between your batterys and some smart relays allow this funcitonality also.
Not recommended if your engine battery is completely dead but if it's just failing to catch, I would be happy to enough to do this from my leisure battery

Re: Alternator issues
Just to add that I've replaced my bongo alternator twice (using second hand parts). The first time I had the flashing glow plug light on the dash as you would expect but the second time there were no symtoms other than the battery not being charged.

Thanks everyone, it was a bit twitchy, but not as bad as the carrot soup.(actually really nice). Had a new top hose fitted, and a good old bleed, should be home tomorrow. Thanks for your kind thoughts, see you at stourport if lightening doesn't strike twice. Any issues with availability of parts? G...

Re: Rust converters, any success.
I use Vactan myself but it all depends on the source of the rust. If it's rusting from the inside out (like the wheel arches), rust killer won't be effective at all. It's rusting due to a scrape or where the protective paint has worn down (undercarriage), it's a lot more effective. Hope that helps. ...

Re: Viewed another one
Look, if it's not rusted and the cooling system is in decent shape and working well there's not too much more that can go catestrophically wrong and render the whole vehicle uneconomical to repair. The fuel injection pumps are a very expensive replacement £500+, if that's leaking that's worth haggli...
