Re: bottom hose cold, thermostat not opening
Hi there guys, As usual you haven't let me down. Nice to see a wealth of knowledge as appose to guess work. This is the second thermostat I've fitted, with this one being a genuine one, just to be extra safe. The post which details the guy checking 10 Bongo's and all bar one had cold bottom hoses w...

Re: changing engine oil
Paper / material filter elements have an amount of 'fluff' in them which will make its way into the injector pump, plus the rubber fuel hoses between filter and pump will tend to deteriorate over time and the bits will be trapped by the wire mesh before it can damage the pump. Fuel pipes are recomm...

"World foods aisle in Tesco 10 lutres for £9. (two 5 ltr bottles) Buy one lot (£30+) and you'll get £5.00 voucher off your next lot (£40+) 5x£9.00-£5.00+£40 = 80p/litre. Good price, but consistently lower at Makro, last lot I got before selling Bongo was £15.49 for 20lt up from £14.99. There i...

Re: changing engine oil
Banjo filter. What is its purpose? It isn’t there to filter, if it was a finer filter than the fuel filter it would block in no time due to its tiny size. Mine caused problems twice with no sign of contamination, but I was running 100% veg oil. It didn’t cause anymore problems, for about the last t...

Gone............        A pity. End of an era. Wish I could have adopted it - I remember inspecting the Veg Oil System on Ainsdale Beach 7 years ago. Good luck with future plans Mel :-( Thanks, it doesn’t seem nearly 1 tenth of my life ago that that happened...

Re: Houston we have a problem.
I think the Bongo is upset that I’m moving it on after over 6 years of living in a warm garage. On the way back from doing the deal the front washer pump stopped working. Then a glow plug (the hard one to get at) gave up the ghost making it real grumpy starting…………….. Spent all afternoon wit...

Re: Houston we have a problem.
Just spent an hour or so doing this. Hope the next owner gets it. 1 Veg oil switch. Up for on when the water temp is over 50c. The power is nominally restricted when using but if you need to race you just switch back and power on. I have upset a few people who thought it was ok to cut me up on the ...

Re: Houston we have a problem.
Well that’s it, her indoors has got her expensive bit of luxury. It certainly ticks all the boxes. So a good day and a sad one too. The Bongo goes to a trader on Friday for £1100.00 yep £1100.00. If you know anyone who wants a very cheap Bongo let me know, I would prefer to see it go to a good home...
