Re: How big a mistake did I just make?

Don't worry, the inter cooler pipes won't really get that hot, all that passes through them is pressurised air. You would be lucky if the got more than a few degrees higher than ambient temperature & they won't get anywhere near as hot coolant/water pipes would have. Are you sure? If that was t...

Any other intermittent problems like not starting first time?
I have had this fault on a CAT1 system. It was nigh impossible to find the cause but got there in the end....

The tighter the clearances’ the more efficient it performs. The le...

Re: Mechanics have run out of ideas on how to fix cooling sy

scanner you could bang a cork in the rad, it wouldnt matter, it is only a bung, it doesnt open/vent. it cannot, as the top rubber seal is always in touch with the rad top ring, the sprung valve does nothing at all. but it will vent if the rad has the little vent pipe. Maybe, if everything hidden aw...

Thanks this is giving me a direction to go. I have a 12v lift pump I'll try that. Do you know how easy a seal would be to fit?

Fit the lift pump, if it solves the problem it is a pump of job to replace the front seal. Simple job, did mine and the other seals when off.

Re: Motion Potion Troubles

The pump sucks fuel into the low pressure side. At low speed it can if the front seal is faulty draw air in (the lower the fuel level the harder it works) hope that makes sense?
Fitting a cheap lift pump instead of a one way valve may show you where the cause of your problem is.

Re: Motion Potion Troubles

My typing is too slow, no replies when I started…………. Sorry to hear about your problem, I have no knowledge of the fly by wire IP so will consider it as the same as the wired one. Your thinking of fitting a non return valve suggests you think you have a vacuum in the tank, the tank filter blo...

Re: 2gether a bit pushy?

Thanks for your input. I am finding it incredibly difficult to get insurance elsewhere so will most probs have to go with them. My bongo is a 96 AFT diesel auto with a removable kitchen (makes it a 6 seater) still registered as an 8 seater... Why is it alien to all these insurance companies.... As ...

Re: Help please leaking diesel pump- not seals.

I had the pump off as the cam belt was being changed; I also wanted to replace the front seal as I was certain it was drawing air in.
Can the rear large o ring be changed in situ? Probably, try it BUT don’t loosen the injector block any further once the o ring is exposed.
Good luck…………….
