Re: Coolant alarm problem

Oakworth is near Haworth Keighley.

Was thinking of trying to attach the wire directly. Will try that next.

If I test with my voltmeter what setting do I put It on? I know the setting for battery but little else.

Re: Coolant alarm problem

I got the extra ring connectors and the screw. Thanks for sorting. Have fitted it (took two goes) - and if anything it's worse now. Alarm sounded for around 5 minutes on idle and then went off for another 5 mins and then back on and off over the next ten minutes While I parked up it was sounding qui...

Re: Coolant alarm problem

The battery fitter seemed to think 12.1 was okay

And after two diagnosis I’m going to accept that for now.

I’ll email Jo now. She sent me a load of screws recently so I’ll just ask her for the connector.

Thanks for the help. I’ll post back with any updates.

Re: Coolant alarm problem

Just taken it to a local tyre/battery place and they did a drop test on the main battery and said it was fine. Holding a very strong charge apparantly. Before that I unscrewed the alarm screw about half way and used an old toothbrush on it. I also noticed the contact ring/eyelet looked either rusty ...

Re: Coolant alarm problem

Re; the battery suggestion. There' a Kwik Fit near where I work, so I took the Bongo in for their free battery test, fully expecting the worst - but hoping a new battery would cure the problem. They tested both starter and leisure battery - I don't think they were sure which was which! The report sa...

Coolant alarm problem

Had some issues with my coolant alarm that have got progressively worse over the last several months. The alarm goes off 95% of the time and is driving me crazy. Over the last year it used to continue for several minutes after starting, so I cleaned the screw and this fixed the issue.. for a few wee...

Re: MOT history

No - not Bristol Bob - It's in Brighouse. They do servicing there and he seems to know his stuff. I'm going back for a proper look/drive and will follow all advice - much appreciated. Also tempted to the dark side by this beast! http://www.candacars.co.uk/used-motorhome-volkswagen-transporter-t4-19-...

MOT history

Had a quick look at an N reg Bongo at a dealers yesterday and aside from a few scuffs here and there which the dealer promised would be fixed up it was a decent looking van. The underside appeared to be waxoyled and the engine sounded decent. The head was a bit oily, but he mentioned replacing a roc...

Re: Tough Northerners in Vests 2012

I only live a mile down the road in Oakworth (home to 3 Bongo's that I know of so far). It'll be seriously cold here in March so I think I'll stay warm at home unless there's any Bongoing activities outside of the camp site? A Bongo Parade would be good!

Re: Fuel Gauge

Cheers. I'll have a look, although I'm not sure I can get in that way as we have a side conversion behind the drivers seat.
