Re: voltage and watts?
It will protect you, its only the off load voltage that will usually remain at 12.6v, as soon as you put a load on it will drop, however I would suggest that 11.6v is a bit on the high side for a leisure battery, mine is set for 10.8v or a fraction higher. Do make sure it is attached at the battery ...

Re: Battery drainer
Cap's in the radio or anywhere else for that matter won't blow the fuse in the meter, unless you have a BIG amplifier fitted ;-) Connect your meter across the fuse socket then remove the fuse itself, that way there is no surge. The fuse your connecting to is the Supply side fuse and not one of the t...

Re: Sediment Light
That's exactly case, there is no logical reason to put both lamps on for Alternator problems! I suspect that they reused the Instrument panel from another vehicle, and this already had the extra diode in place to bring on the Sediment light but to keep costs down they didn't remove it and its contin...

Re: How do I get these off?????
I was in there the other day pretty certain they weren't captive nuts, but the bolts from the Lush diagram appear to be fixed http://www.lushprojects.com/bongopartsmk2/code=6200A&cat=a2ajra0a&vin=&imgno=.html Yes they trim just pulls down but the first spring clip will often fly out, wra...

Re: Alternator Nightmare
The alternator generates AC internally this is then rectified using diodes to create the DC voltage for charging, the most common electrical problem is that one (or more) of the diodes will fail short circuit and then the alternator spends its time heating its windings up! In the Bongo diagram below...

Re: Nasty pic of burned out switch - what now?
The switches are known for breaking, and not always easy to find replacements normally its just the plastic parts but I would guess that the actual contact was released in yours which caused the problem when it slide about inside. I wouldn't think there is likely to be any other cause for it. Might ...

Re: Nasty pic of burned out switch - what now?
The same 15 Amp fuse is used for both Radio and the Mirrors (and several other Misc things), I suspect that the Mirror switch failed and blew the fuse.

Re: Oil cap not under passenger seat
The Dipstick under the passenger seat is for engine Oil level. The oil Cap for filling it up is under the Drivers seat.
The Dipstick under the Drivers seat is for the Automatic Transmission. It doesn't have a Cap at all, you fill it down the dipstick tube.

Re: TV Aerial
Dish aerials are used for Satellite reception. See here as an example http://www.skywise.tv/44cm-mini-dish-p-19.html If an aerial is described as being any form of "Dish" but is used for terrestrial broadcast reception then the words have been dreamt up by a Marketing bod who earned himsel...

Re: Aaargh, I think I've slaughtered my LB!
There is a lot of misunderstanding going on here! Lead Acid batteries are ALL pretty rugged. However they can be tweaked to give a better life depending on how they are to be used. Starter Batteries - They need to be able to supply several hundreds of Amps for a few seconds, so they need physically ...

Re: TV Aerial
This is an ordinary aerial dressed up to look like a Satellite style flat panel, if you currently use the Sat's then this won't work! Its only a normal terrestrial broadcast aerial.
There isn't any difference between HD and standard as far as the aerials are concerned, there all just digital signals.

Re: Aaargh, I think I've slaughtered my LB!
At a 2Amp trickle charge its going to take quite a while to get back up, assuming its about 85AmpHr then at 2 Amps its going to need 48 hours at least and then it will only be to about 70%, can you not borrow a larger charger or replace the fuse and go for a LONG drive! You may not have done serious...

This is what our V6 has done in terms of MPG since we bought it;
The recent droop was mainly down to a faulty spark plug and less longer distance travel over the winter, since the last service the MPG has started to improve again.

Re: Will leaving engine on tick over charge LB
You ought to get around 4 days of fridge alone without it being opened, but with other demands, lights, blinds, radio etc. I would suggest a Max of about 3 days depending how much you use it of course, every time you open the door all the cold air will drop to the floor, and the new air has to be co...
