Re: A Bongo Adventure to Greece

Looking forward to seeing what dates come up. I finish school on the 3rd July and can make it anytime after than. Also prefer to be in a convoy as I'll be on my own to start of with until the other half of the umbongo clan can come and meet me :)

Re: 1,110 mile round trip for wine

Although I would have to say it's pretty impossible to corrupt Muz as much as we tried with the offerings of stinky cheese, cheap Netto Cremant and frozen snails :P It was a fab quick trip and one that we'll definitely be doing again and maybe we'll manage to persuade some others to join us on a fu...

Re: 1,110 mile round trip for wine

Not content with being thoroughly debauched yourself Muz, you now have to recruit the innocent Umbongo people into your sordid little expeditions We're safe and sound Mike :) and not so innocent (The French side I would say is most definitely less innocent and English side is a saint)  :...

Re: A Bongo Adventure to Greece

Hi Cat Just a nice trip, Bongo or not....I like Greece...and we were going to buy a Landie and caravan about 20 odd years back, and just bum it . Tony lived on a hippy colony for a while, and worked on the mainland for a while , and we fancied a bit of time out... Anyway...it's a good area for a hi...

Re: A Bongo Adventure to Greece

Sounds so tempting and a very interesting tour. Always wanted to visit Greece but I'm in motorhome now as the bongo was sold last year. Also I too am stuck with work at school until the 2nd July

Will keep an eye on this post if having a bongone around is allowed :)

Re: Campsites in France

What sort of cost is it to get across the chanel? Boat can be cheaper than the tunnel. Depends on when you go. I bought my return fair on the tunnel early both this year and last year. Last year it cost me £89 return that was with the bongo beginning of August and coming back the end of August (pea...

Re: Campsites in France

France is really set up for motorhomes and a lovely country to tour around in the van :) I am bias though considering I'm French :D I don't think you have to be French to prefer touring in France. C'est pas sorcier! And yes, I must look at your photos as I tried on my phone and my eyesight just isn...

Re: London insurance advice

Hi, We live in North London and used to park our bongo on the road. Our bongo came from 321 Away too and was fully converted. The first year we took out insurance was quite expensive. I think we paid about £450.00 after that we insured with camping and caravan and still do. No longer have our Bongo ...

Re: Campsites in France

Alison, I don't think it's adults only. You buy the book and get a sticker for that year and the book lists lots of different business's such as small fromageries, vineyards, fois gras farms, restaurants etc, run by the locals. You just turn up before a certain hour and the rule is, you have to say ...
