Re: A couple of recent site visits in Somerset
Yup, I think you're right Bob. Forgot mention that this site is also a 'Glamping' site: Not sure where a hellishly hot and stinking toilet fits in the whole glamping experience!?

A couple of recent site visits in Somerset
Over the last 2 bank holidays we have visited a couple of campsites in Somerset, the locations and sites were related to other stuff (visiting people in local area and going to a gig) rather than being specifically chosen for just a pure trip away in the Bongo. Both sites are very child friendly, so...

Re: AFT roof struggling
Non mechanical stuff you can do to help is make sure you have the tent zips undone, also when it gets near the top you can have someone gently give it a push to help get into the fully up position where it stops beeping. You can also lubricate the struts - not with WD40 though (can't remember why no...

Re: Electric vehicles emit more CO2 than diesel vehicles....
I see the study it refers to is called "Electric Vehicles are not a Panacea for Climate Change" and I think that's correct to a degree - certainly, if all vehicles were swapped for EV's it wouldn't reverse the effects on it's own. Not sure that LI ION batteries are the answer either, with ...

Re: 14 inch wheels
I do like the look of the Citroen ones. For the person who asked for pics: https://photos.app.goo.gl/ynZL9y4e59k84GCn6 'twas me.. Looks great, it's an idea that's floated around in my head from time to time, good to see it in the flesh.. See what you mean about the wheels, i have a feeling someone ...

Re: Bongo tidy up and Vrt!
Great thread PH, going to be following your progress with interest. We usually bring our Bongo over to Electric Picnic but we're not going this year. We will be going to All Together Now, let me know if you are going and we'll hook up and talk Bongos!
cheers, Andy

Re: Latest bits and pieces
A couple of small developments since my last post, thought I would share in case anyone finds the info useful. Firstly, having 2 devices: Phone for calls and tablet for navigation and music paired simultaneously via bluetooth to the car stereo wasn't an option for my old stereo, so I found a Sony un...

Re: AFT onto Tintop
Just an update, roof is all on and working exactly as a genuine AFT should, so i'm happy with that. I've got a roof tent but not in best condition, as the netting is ripped. I hope to source a better one if I find a nice condition silver one. Headlining is back in with led lights fitted flush into ...

Latest bits and pieces
Have been doing some odds and ends over the winter months. Back in 2015 I had a Raspberry Pi as a media server with a longer term plan to have it, or another one as an engine monitoring function but I shelved that and then, as I moved from iPhone to Android it made sense to have an Android setup. So...

Re: 14.8v from leisure battery with engine running
Thanks loads Geoff and Bob, makes perfect sense, I reckon it is likely down to the cheap clock / temp / volt display. I noticed an hour or so later it was reading 12.9 in front and 12,6 in the back. Will check next w/e with multimeter, not going out in to the cold again now - red wine and fire time!...

14.8v from leisure battery with engine running
Hi all Bit of advice please. I've put a new leisure battery in as the old one had reached the end of the road, also fixed the wiring for the interior spotlights - there must have been a break in the wire or dodgy connection as cutting in a new wire about 4' from the end with new inline fuse holder a...

Re: Stoke Newington, N London - full of Bongos!
When the new ULEZ gets extended in 2021 (I think) to the North & South Circular - we're going to be about 500 yds inside it..
